Places to be on Wikimapia
Rules for places: Non-movable places that exist at this moment of time. Examples of what should be on the map: • All visible objects (buildings, lakes, rivers, roads, harbor facilities etc.) • Newly constructed buildings, which are not visible on the satellite image. When placing such items, make sure to be accurate! • Visible settlements such as cities, towns, villages, and neighborhoods. A category must be properly assigned here. • It is also preferred that you add title and information to the tag to give a valid explanation of what the item actually is (ie. "lake", "building", "123 Any Street")(See http://wikimapia.org/wiki/User_Guide:_Places_and_Place_Tags#Title). Tags without titles will be removed per one of the deletion explanations below.
• Non-existent places, even if they were there in the past. • Planned buildings or roads, which have not been constructed yet. • Movable objects or vehicles: buses, cars, ferries, airplanes, ships etc. • A non-existing place where any event happened or is to occur. • A personal house without an address or any useful information. • A duplicate tag of a place previously marked. • Advertising of any kind, personal or irrelevant photos. Exceptions: Movable or historical objects and places that are very well-known, famous or very interesting and do not clutter the map or visually conflict with other places, may be added.
