They offer free wine tastings in their scenic outdoor setting, with a view of the property gardens and big open spaces for relaxing.

For the kids, there is wooden play equipment and outdoor activities scattered through the gardens, including a swing, seesaw and obstacle course with a cubby. There is also a tub of garden games for kids to play with on the lawn.

If you are looking for a Margaret River winery to visit with kids, where you could easily spend an afternoon, Swings & Roundabouts is a great choice.

They pride themselves on making handcrafted wines that reflect the unique environment of their vineyards with rustic, Mediterranean style, which you can enjoy in their tasting room.

But what makes it a great place is the atmosphere and rustic charm.

For kids, they have a huge playground with swings, slides, climbing frames and more. At the time of our visit, there was a second playground of equal size under construction.

Our kids would happily have spent half a day here.

The iconic swing chairs are another fun touch, enjoying your swinging seat with a view of the winery or Margaret River landscape that surrounds the venue.

There is a restaurant serving meals with a Mediterranean-inspired menu, using local ingredients, making this a great option for lunch or dinner. They have regular entertainment, including Sunday Sessions with live music.

Located near Busselton and Dunsborough, in the Margaret River region, Lentedal is a wonderful family-friendly winery. Here you will find great food and wine, with a cellar door and restaurant.

But for the kids, the friendly farm animals are the biggest delight! Everything form horses, turkeys, cats, lambs and chickens. There is also plenty of open spaces to run around, swings to play on and lawn games.

During the summer months, they screen movies on their outdoor cinema, serving from their alfresco cafe and cellar door while you watch on the lawn.

You won’t just find fabulous wine here though. The Berry Farm also specialises in vinegar and jams.

Their cottage cafe offers a seasonal menu and kids menu featuring the freshest local produce and their own specially made condiments.

There is plenty of space for the kids to run around with 3 playgrounds to enjoy – swings, slides, climbing frames and more. The children’s corner makes it easy for you to enjoy sampling their wines while the kids are entertained.

They certainly excel at having a huge range of kid activities. During school holidays, they have camel rides for the kids. They also have takeaway kids meals with activity packs and offer kids birthday party packages all year round.

The modern Australian restaurant offers an ever-changing menu. They also have a pizza bar with delicious pizzas, and their own brewhouse so you can enjoy craft beer as well, in a more casual dining experience.

Wine tastings at the Cellar Door are $10 per person, redeemable against any wine purchases you make.

The estate is also home to some very unique collections – the first-ever official Western Australian surfing museum, the WA Surf Gallery and a sportscar gallery.

They have a large grass area and outdoor play area for the kids, as well as plenty of space undercover if it’s wet outside. During summer weekends and school holidays, they run a slip n slide waterslide down the hill for some extra fun and entertainment!

The brewery has its own kitchen serving delicious meals with local ingredients and big flavours. They also serve wood-fired pizzas and have their own children’s menu, including a kids platter with fruit, veggie sticks and popcorn.

How To Get To Margaret River

If you are travelling to Margaret River from Perth, it is an easy long weekend trip or overnight stay to enjoy the beautiful southwest Western Australia region.

Best Time To Visit Margaret River

Let’s be real – there is no bad time to visit Margaret River! Each season offers its own perks for seeing the beautiful south west region of WA.

During spring, from September to November, wildflowers are blooming and this is the perfect time of year for whale watching tours as they migrate to the warmer waters. Days are mostly warm with cooler nights.

In summer, between December and March, the temperatures are warm which makes it perfect for enjoying the beautiful WA beaches in the area.

In Autumn, between April and May, temperatures are a little cooler, around 20 to 25 degrees each day and cool at night, yet less windy than spring.

Winter brings cooler temperatures and cold nights, along with more rain. Yet chilly nights by the fireplace with a bottle of local wine sure don’t sound awful!
