This excellently located hotel is quiet and surrounded by trees, clean and efficient. The breakfast buffet was well organized and had a variety of options. The modern design is very pleasing and all the staff were helpful and personable. We had 2 days in a one bedroom suite which was extremely helpful since my husband goes to bed early and I could still watch TV without disturbing him. This will be my go-to hotel in the future for Williamsburg.

Overall, an enjoyable two night stay @ this hotel. The entire facility was very clean (including the grounds). I saw the friendly staff several times mopping floors, cleaning doors, blowing debris away from the front door and parking lot, as several thunderstorms blew up leaves, etc. in front of the hotel. The bed was super comfy (just right), entire room was very clean, everything worked properly (including the a/c which was efficient and quiet when operating, a rarity these days in hotels!), wireless worked great and the room was pretty quiet, despite the hotel being pretty full on my second night there. My only disappointment was that the deleeecious, hot and fresh cinnamon rolls are NOT available yet-BUMMER! (the breakfast was a bit on the limited side.) Hopefully, this will be "back to normal" soon.
Reasonable rates compared to similar properties in the area, so definitely would recommend this HIE location.

Newly renovated lobby area and rooms. Beautiful bathroom, very clean, rooms were beautifully decorated, love the wall papers and especially the faux animal skin paper in dark blue with white accents, absolutely stunning. Love the air/heat controlled by thermostat on wall, unit very quiet. Loved the Kerurig coffee maker ointment the room. Lobby was very inviting, staff quite friendly and so helpful. Very pleasant stay wish we had had longer to stay there. Even though COVID managed to mess up the continental breakfast, Holiday Inn still was able to provide a bag snack for breakfast, a muffin or sweet roll , piece of fruit and bottle of water. Thank you for making our short stay so relaxing. Will definitely recommend this Holiday Inn Express to friends and family.

The location is good. The hotel from my understanding was a different chain, which was recently renovated and changed to a holiday inn express. The room was ok. The sheets had several stains on them. The bathtub had about an inch of water in it and all of the complimentary toiletries were empty. I would look elsewhere. Especially during a time when cleaning should be heightened.

We have checks and balances in place to ensure that the types of problems you had are avoided, clearly we failed during your stay. This is not our standard! I have stayed at this property before and I will likely stay again as it is convenient, clean, good value, and (usually) helpful staff. However, I was disappointed on my recent stay to learn that they do not service your room during your stay (less than 5 nights). They took away our soiled towels, but didn't leave any new clean ones, and the beds were not made. Is that the "IHG Clean Promise" i.e., just not clean the rooms during a stay? Wasn't that made clear when I booked? Um, no. And it isn't mentioned anywhere in the marketing blurbs on "IHG Clean Promise".
Secondly, the breakfast is something I would have expected in the early days of the pandemic when they were scrambling to think of something .. anything .. to call "breakfast." However, more than a year into it, I would expect more creative and appealing options. No reason not to offer better choices, even if they were "to go." How about a breakfast item that you could stick in the room's microwave? A juice dispenser maybe? And why not offer limited, socially distanced seating .. the area restaurants do.
Finally, I spoke with the manager on duty who deflected my concerns with literally the opposite of the "own the problem" principle of good customer service. Something about a nameless establishment that sets the policies so no use talking to him about it.

This is the IHG Clean Promise - We understand how important cleanliness is to you and as an IHG Hotel, we deliver the IHG Clean Promise. If your room is not cleaned to your satisfaction, please contact the Front Desk immediately - we promise to make it right - that is the IHG Clean Promise. Also, for your safety, we will limit entry into room and housekeeping will be performed every five days (or seven days for Extended Stay brands), unless requested. In regards to the Fresh Start Breakfast, we have been given guidelines which we continue to follow with modifications along the way. After speaking to you during your stay, it was clear that you understood the procedures although you disagreed. When asked for towels they were immediately given, plus an abundance without hesitation. A sincere apology was offered, even after humbly serving it was still not to your satisfaction. I hope that we can come to an understanding and continue to pursue business as we love hosting you at our establishment. Until then. take care and look forward to hosting you in the future. We came to Williamsburg area for my husband's business/job, I had browsed a few Hotels near the area and saw a few that had bad reviews as well as pictures of dirty rooms so having kids I did not want to book with any of them. I came across Holiday Inn Express Williamsburg Bush Gardens Area and not only were the reviews great I saw pictures of the rooms and they looked clean and comfortable. I went ahead and called, Mr.Divine F. was very friendly, knowledgeable and made it easy for me to book with them, he went above and beyond answering all the questions I was throwing at him. He was very professional and very helpful.all helpfully staff was amazing, I can honestly say thus was by far the best hospitality we've received since living in VA. All the staff members were very kind and helpful as well as very professional including housekeeping. They have reasonable prices and most importantly very clean and safe for everyone. I highly recommend them and will definitely be booking in the future.

My husband and I as well as a number of friends booked this hotel for a Marriage Retreat Weekend that we were attending. I loved the room, great little 'zones' that let us spread out for the various things we wanted to do in the room (quick work on the laptop, a snack , watch TV in bed). Most notably, the vanity/sink is outside the bathroom. This let me freshen up before dinner, and do my makeup before church while my husband showered! I wish out master suite at home was so well-planned (lol). We'd definitely book again. See ya next year!

I just want to say when we arrived Divine Fraser the assistant general manager was amazing he allowed us to check in early we were at Busch gardens in the rain soaking wet and all we wanted to do was get in our room and change to go out to dinner. He recommended some good places to eat and was overall the best friendliest hotel staff member I have ever dealt with. The next morning when we woke up he was there again and wanted to make sure we had a good day definitely recommend this place The staff is amazing

My fiance and I stayed here for a weekend in November to attend to the Christmas Celebration at Busch Gardens on Friday and Saturday evening. The hotel was very clean and met our needs. My only complaint was the batteries in our remote control were not working so we used the button on the television to turn it on. When we returned from the park on Friday night we went to the front desk and they came up to our room with new batteries. But these also did not work. So we had one channel (The Weather Channel) all weekend. But we were not in the room much.

The rooms are very clean, but I am not sure I would choose to stay here again with kids. The rooms have large gaps under the doors so you can hear everything in the hallway and the bright light from the hallway comes into the room. At 9:36 pm I hear AC/DC being played somewhere on our floor loud and clear.
The sofa bed was not made up when we arrived, we had to do that on our own. Perhaps that is normal, but we arrived exhausted and had booked a room for the four of us so would have loved to see two beds fully made. There are only enough towels for two of us, so we’ll have to request more and go down to desk to get them. Again, we reserved a room for 4 people but it was prepared only for 2.
The decor is very sterile - not super cozy but clean like a hospital. Pool is in a parking lot. It’s a good value, but I would spend a bit more next time for something a little more relaxing and comfortable if staying more than one night.
