Leeds United: Crysencio Summerville sends Archie Gray message amid transfer news
Crysensio Summerville has shared his hope that Archie Gray will have a great future at Leeds United after the midfielder picked up the Championship Young Player of the Year award.
The winger explained that he could not do what Gray was doing at his age, revealing that he calls him “golden boy” and hopes the club continue to take care of him and his development.
This comes amid rumours of interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, with Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg reporting [17 April] that Bayern are monitoring his progress.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post [17 April], Summerville shared: “It’s crazy. He knows how I think about him, I couldn’t do this at his age, it asks a lot from you. He knows I call him our golden boy and we have to take care of him.
“I hope he’s got a great future at Leeds.”

At just 18 years old, Gray has been one of the standout performers under Daniel Farke at Elland Road this season, catching the eye of most viewers including some of Europe’s elite who could be looking to sign the Leeds star.
However, it had previously been suggested that Gray could sign another deal to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future, with an £80million release clause on the cards if he were to agree to the new contract.
Having played 41 games in the Championship this season, the midfielder has made himself a crucial part of Farke’s side, filling in both at right-back in his more natural midfield role with his versatility proving key to Leeds’ performances.
Given Gray’s attachment to the Elland Road club, as well as the new deal he signed just months ago, it’s hard to imagine he would be pushing for any move despite the major interest and, as Summerville said, he will have a great future at Leeds.
