After 3-year hiatus, returned to Tour at 2023 Montreal reaching 2r (l. Vondrousova). Played 1r of Cincinnati (l. Gracheva) and ended her season at US Open, reaching 4r (l. eventual champion, Gauff).

Initially retired at 29 years old in 2020, played last tournament at Australian Open 2020 (l. Jabeur in 3r)

Ended 2019 ranked No.38 - her first non-Top 20 finish since 2007 - having announced rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis at WTA Finals in October 2018

Season highlight in 2019 was reaching final at Charleston (l. Keys) and SF at Beijing where she was the defending champion (l. Osaka)
