The Monmouth Rebellion Timeline
6 February to 15 July 1685
What Happened in the Monmouth Rebellion?
The Monmouth Rebellion Timeline started in September 1684 with the aborted Michaelmas uprising. However, after the death of King Charles II the Whigs began planning for the invasions in Scotland & England. These plans would become the Monmouth Rebellion.
In Scotland, this has been called Argyll’s Rising or in England the Pitchfork Rebellion or Western Rising.
