The Young and the Restless Conner Floyd is celebrating his first anniversary with the top-rated CBS soap opera in the role of Chance Chancellor.

Floyd, who has now established himself with the cast and in story, told Soap Opera Digest in his first interview with them back in November of 2021: “I’m excited to be around all of this talent and soak up as much as I can from these savvy vets. The first couple of weeks were crazy, but I feel like I’m figuring this out and finding my rhythm.”

Now a year later, (Floyd starting taping Y&R in October of 2021), the actor took to his Instagram with a special nod and thank you, relating: “One year in Genoa City. Thanks for all the love and support.”

Michael Fairman TV had the pleasure of speaking with Conner along with on-screen lady love Melissa Ordway (Abby), after he first appeared on Y&R and Chance’s return began to play itself.  You can check out that interview on the Michael Fairman Channel, or watch it below.

So, glad Conner has made it through one year of soap opera boot camp and is now thriving at Y&R? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Just like Ray, he hangs around the Coffee shop, has coffee, has no storyline.

Don’t forget the endless weeks of haggling about his bonding issues with Domicile (or whatever his name is) and his attraction to bad-news Chelsea. Too bad he’s such a dullard because Conner is really gorgeous.

Well, can see the signs already. He’s finally getting sick of his spoiled brat of a wife and will jump in to a worse situation with Chelsea.i don’t get why all the men fall for her loony crap. She needs to be committed again. With stalking Johnny and making Conner miserable, it’s not tight. Y

My word, Violet, Miss Chelsea is beginning to scare me. That quick-trigger paranoia she displayed on Friday was REALLY creepy. Does she really think Chance, Sharon, and Adam all got together in the space of five minutes to stage some weird intervention at a coffee house? Wow! I feel great empathy for sufferers of mental illness, as my family has experienced it. It’s terribly painful and confusing, to put it mildly. Chelsea is there; she needs help… yesterday.

Soaphound
Yes, she’s getting worse, stalking Johnny now, poor kid, he’s no match for her.At least Conner isn’t with her full time. She’s coming unglued alright. Maybe Chance can distract her by letting her run her hands through his hair now and then.

Wish Y&R would really give Chance agency and a spotlight. His PTSD storyline was downplayed when there could have been so much more. You have a handsome actor and a vital character with so much legacy. And why are Genoa City police people made so inconsequential?

The best Chance yet and hes settling in very naturally! He’s easy on the eyes and has plenty of charm. Abby , Melissa Ordway I feel also finally found a partner she had chem with! Would love to see him and Adam have a beer together because I know they had history back in Vegas and in general or even with Billy , Lily and Abby since all four go way back. Just normal scenes of characters who don’t always interact together instead of those only in storyline s together. I remember Bell used to do that with Michael , Lauren , Paul , Nina etc …

I agree, Damien. I liked Adam having a friend, something his power-mad sister Victoria has never managed. Nick has already abused Adam’s efforts to reconcile, helping Nick with his PTSD, so there goes that relationship. I’d love a bromance with Chance and Adam. GH has had several sweet bromances: Drew and Curtis; Chase and Michael before Mikey showed his true, traitorous colors; Sonny and Jason; Jason and Spinelli. Most men are capable of being more than childish rivals even if Nick Newman isn’t.

Right?! The only tired angle Josh Griffith brought to Adam vs Nick was reconciling them and having them lean on each other after Nick killed Ashland supposedly. I liked Adam and Nick as brothers and was hoping they d team up against Daddy . But it seems Griffith had no where to go but put Sally into the fold and now Nick has become sleazy and unrecognizable. I never thought Josh Morrow could be anything but sexy but in this latest hoorah he comes across as a pedophile. It’s that gross. Nick and Sally is sick
There was the scene last week at Crimson Lights that was so sincere when Adam revealed himself and asked Nick to back off and Nick looked sympathetic. Nick ofcourse couldn’t control his hormones and met with Sally at Noah’s ugly new club.
Connor Floyd seems so cool as Chance I also would love for Paul , Christine and Nina to pop in and counsel him. Maybe at the gcpd set if we ever see that again. Lol

This is what JM calls a storyline any time he is rolling around on a couch or floor or desk top with the newest gal.

Glad you mentioned that “work date” between Sally and Nick. How about when he started sniffing her perfume? Reminded me of Trusty the bloodhound from LADY AND THE TRAMP. Of course in this case, Nick and Sally are both tramps. Is it just me or does Noah’s new club (apparently bankrupt after only one night) resemble an airport terminal waiting room, complete with a full bar? And that dancing? I’ve seen smoother choreography at the Indy 500. And Kyle’s “moves” on the dance floor are second only to Elaine’s on SEINFELD.

He needs a better storyline.

He is a nice guy who just doesnt fit into the show. But he is a cop and they dont do well in a show full of crooked business people! We have one cop in town who is relevant and thats Paul. Paul who, right?

Do not like this guy—-zero personality—what exactly does he do? He is a “fill-in” husband for Abby who does not seem to exude any attraction/sensuality with any of her past and present male partners. I guess they’re meant for each other—-insipid!!

Don’t follow closely. Just viewed or a long time. Chance and Noah are both appealing for me as actors and personally. Not sure how Aly sits with me. I keep following the shares in the public offering and don’t have enough background. No idea who this new man is — Mrs. Chancellor’s son? Think Nick and Sally don’t have any particular chemistry; just angst from Nick killing a person and Sally from breakup with Adam. Also, not meant unkindly, but Nick has played a rather background role for quite a while. His acting skills could use a little brush up. Where I live news often cuts off Y&R. Have one more to watch. I tend to like this site.

Nick is a lot better character when he is his own man and not under his bitchy big sister’s thumb. She likes running his private life as well as the business part. I’m wondering how long he’ll take her interference in his life. P.S, his acting skills are fine, it’s the lousy scripts he’s given.

I appreciate your comments. Nick just seems a little stiff for me, but always appreciate his presence. On the other hand, minus the months with Ashland which just didn’t seem to fit into the scheme of things, Victoria has had stellar performances as she slowly morphs into her father.

Chance you are wonderful, great actor love your character. Love all the actors on the show, nick will always be my favorite. You are all very talented

Now speculation is running rampant of just who could it be! Is it possible that Jonathan Jackson will reprise his five-time Daytime Emmy-winning role of Lucky Spencer? Could it be the return of John J. York as Mac Scorpio who had to exit the series to undergo treatment for myelodysplastic syndromes and multiple smoldering myeloma (two blood and bone marrow disorders), but who recently returned a month ago to the set? Or, might it be the return of two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Bryan Craig, as a now very much alive Morgan Corinthos?

In addition, Steve Burton (Jason), Kate Mansi (Kristina), and GH head writer, Elizabeth Korte, also shared some storyline intel of what lies ahead through the summer months for Jason, Kristina, and all of the Davis women.

Watch the entire video package below.

Now weigh-in, which male actor is returning to General Hospital? Who do you hope it will be? Share your theories via the comment section.

Y&R’s Michelle Stafford Clarifies Backstory of Emotional Acceptance Speech Moment During the Daytime Emmys

When General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason) and Laura Wright (Carly, GH) opened the envelope to reveal the winner of the Lead Actress in a Drama Series winner, during the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards broadcast, they called Y&R’s Michelle Stafford’s name.

Now, a three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Stafford took to the microphone to address the viewers at home, her Y&R family and her own family. During her acceptance speech, Michelle mentioned a moment “crying” in the office of the series executive producer and head writer, Josh Griffith.

While people were spinning their own stories of what went down, Michelle decided to nip that in the bud, by taking to her Instagram and explaining what she meant, and what has been going on in her life, which includes the death of her stepfather, Ed Lee, who she lost back in March of this year.

Photo: JPI

Michelle wrote: “Need to kill this weird narrative that’s seems to be catching fire regarding the thing that I said to Josh Griffith on stage “thank you for letting me cry in your office.” I usually wouldn’t give a sh*t. But I think actually sharing the story with you might be helpful to anyone who is experiencing grief.  I lost a parent recently. It was devastating.  But you must carry on with life. You go to work. You take care of your kids….And life does in fact move on.”

“About 10 days or so after his death I had already had a meeting planned with Josh about some questions I had in my story. We were discussing a couple things and every time I talked about my character’s relationship with her children and aspects of how it would play out… this surge of emotion came over me. Have you ever been there? After a loss you move on and you’re fine but then maybe you’re talking to, I don’t know, a co-worker or you see something at the market and something triggers some memory and you fall apart? The more you try to stop it the worse it gets. Oh man, it’s horrible. That’s what happened,” Stafford explained.

Photo: JPI

Stafford continued, “I found myself weeping in Josh’s office. Like an idiot. Something about talking about Phyllis’s relationship with her kids just did it. I was so embarrassed. I apologized profusely. He did the most human thing. I won’t get into what he said and did but it was quite human. Yes, it’s a workplace, our set. For sure. We’ve all been working together for a long time. It’s a professional environment, but we all really care about each other.”

Clarifying that this wasn’t about her crying in the bosses office to get a storyline out of it for the future, Michelle added, “Sometimes that’s hard for people to understand if they don’t have that kind of work life. Maybe folks out there who are trying to spread a rumor that I ‘cry to get a storyline’ maybe they have a bad work situation. Or a boss who doesn’t even care to listen to them. I don’t know…. ”

In closing, the award-winning actress shared, “All I know is that I’m very honored to work with people I also care about and who I believe care about me. What a gift. What I said on stage was a spontaneous comment to my boss who did something very kind for me. Very human for me. My wish for others is that one day they actually experience a working environment that’s similar.”

You can watch Michelle’s acceptance speech from the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards below.

Now, let us know, what did you think about Michelle taking the time to explain what she meant, and how grief, as with anyone else who has had a major loss or losses in their life, comes in waves and can affect you seemingly when you least expect? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Teschner is a 10-time Emmy winner, and was nominated for Outstanding Casting again this year at the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Now. Mark chats live about his Silver Circle honor, some of his GH casting coups, how he found some of GH’s most popular stars through the year, what he looks for from an actor during the audition process for a soap opera, and much more.

Recently, Teschner told Soap Opera Digest on what he looks for in a performer when casting a role: “Sometimes it’s just, you know it when you see it. A great example is Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda) an actress who didn’t have many credits other than a couple of plays she had done. I saw hundreds of actors and I felt, on a gut level, we hadn’t found the combination of charisma, sex appeal, complexity and soulfulness, and then Vanessa walked in. Fortunately, the powers-that-be agreed.”

Join us live on Tuesday night, June 11th beginning at 10PM ET/7PM PT on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel for this very special conversation with Mark.

If you have any questions you would like posed to Mark, but cannot make the live chat tomorrow night, you can drop in the comment section below and it may just get asked during the show.
