- Work term placements- Commerce program at MUN has a 100% work term placement rate. The placements are spread across provincial government, federal government, Private firm, crown corporation, and NGO offices,
- Inclusivity & Diversity- Even though MUN is in a not so immigrant populated province of Canada. The campus includes students from all around the world and they are treated well.,
- Same fee structure for all programs- You can choose to switch to any program in the future and having to pay the same fees.
- Dislikes:
- Weather in this province is one of the worst in Canada. Very Windy,
- Fee hikes. It used to be very affordable. Not anymore,
- The campus buildings could be better. Needs renovation
English language proficiency test results, 12th marksheet is required. Done go for consultants. Do your own research of what programs you want. If you ndont have your 12th marksheet ready, apply with your 11th marksheet and they may give you a provisional acceptance. Present 12th marksheet to get the final acceptance letter. Their acceptance process is quite slow.
Fees:
Although once considered to be one of the most affordable univeristies of Canada, after the fee hike, its not highly worth it as there are much better options available. Fees are per course taken plus other charges such as insurance, sports arena membership, student union fees, online studies fees etc. Tuition fees were paid partly by parents and partly by the savings I was able to accumulate with my work terms.

- The university has a good reputation in the field of Computer Science with its experienced and renowned faculty and quality infrastructure providing a felicitous learning environment. The Computer Science course at the university has a balanced mixture of content, covering hardware, software, theory and practice.,
- The program also covers comprehensive learning about various sub-fields of Computer science such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Data Science, Cyber Security and more. The decision is turning out to be pretty good since I am able to get presitigious awards and Dean' list award as well in first year itself.
My experience at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped onto the campus, I knew I had made the right choice. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the breathtaking views of St. John's and the Atlantic Ocean, created the perfect setting for my university journey. One of the highlights of my time at MUN has been the academic quality and the supportive faculty. The professors are not only experts in their fields but also genuinely invested in their students' success. The smaller class sizes allowed for more personalized attention and meaningful interactions with professors, which enriched my learning experience. Beyond academics, the campus life at MUN was vibrant and engaging. There was never a shortage of student organizations and clubs to get involved with. I joined a few clubs related to my interests, which helped me make new friends and find a sense of community within the university. As an international student, I appreciated the diversity at MUN. Interacting with people from various backgrounds and cultures broadened my perspectives and enriched my overall experience. The university's commitment to inclusivity and creating a welcoming environment for all students was evident throughout my time there. The location of MUN in St. John's was also a huge plus. Exploring the city's unique culture, trying out local cuisine, and enjoying outdoor activities in the surrounding natural beauty became an integral part of my life. The city offered a perfect balance between academics and leisure, making my university years unforgettable. The support services at MUN were also commendable. The academic advisors and career counselors were always available to guide and assist students in achieving their goals. Whenever I faced challenges, there was a safety net of resources to help me navigate through them successfully. Additionally, being part of research projects during my upper years was a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into my field of study and gain valuable experience that has benefited me after graduation. As I look back on my time at MUN, I am grateful for the memories, the friends I've made, the knowledge I've gained, and the personal growth I've experienced. Memorial University of Newfoundland has provided me with an exceptional education and a supportive community, setting me on a path for a successful future.

- The Fee for almost all the courses is nominal compared to most other universities. Lot of funding for research-based programs especially. Also my course has the CO-OP facility which lets me work for about 8 months in an IT company as part of the course, which itself has a lot of advantages.,
- Apart from these the university has a lot of opportuities that students can explore and benefit from like entrepreneurial cell, get involved in research, TA opportunities which is easily available and accessible and many others like this.,
- The University has 0 tolerence for bullying, sexual harrasement or anything fo that sort. The other awesome thing abiut the university is evry single building or section in the university is connected via tunnel which is extremely useful during winters. And the university has almost all the courses.,
- "My main reason was fee. This is the universuty I would say in Canada which is excellent in education and gives us a masters degree not just any diploma degree like most colleges do, but all these at an affordable fee. Post education getting PR from this province is very easy compared to most other province. Getting part time is so much more easy."
- Dislikes:
- The number of courses that are offered in a semester for students to choose from is limited. Sometimes we might end up choosing a course just because we have to finish the credits. The location of the university is in Newfoundland which has extreme weather sometimes, especially in winter and the wind makes it very hard here.,
- Summer is like really less here. And also the province has fewer opportunities for computer science and IT. but these are all with respect to the location of the university.
So far it has been excellent. So many opportunities right from working as TA to being vide president in IYA to COOP , there has been wide areas to explore and learn and has definitely expanded my skillset as a software engineer.
Fees:
For the First year which is 3 semester the fee is around 9500 CAD. The same goes for second year. So for a student to finish my program it would take 19000 to 20000CAD. And for GIC you need to deposit 10k. But the best part is, actually what I am doing is, I paid the first year fee from India, and deposited 10k in GIC. I don't use my GIC money for living expense. Part time job here is enough to cover your living expense as long as you do not over spend like parties etc. So I am using my GIC for second year fee. That way I am finishing my whole studies in 20K. And another best part is my program has COOP, which means you can work full time for 8 months, which will give you an opportunity to earn between 20 k to 25K, which means you are also covering all your study expenses during your masters itself, Which is incredible.

- For doing masters in university the fees are less compared to the university which are on main land. The expertise that this university provides helps develop projects which are extracting oil offshore. Experienced professor make it easy to participate in international conferences and new research work which is being conducted.
- Dislikes:
- Although being a renowned institute producing multiple branch engineers this university is in remote location. Because of being in remote location it limit the industrial exposure and sometime this hurdles the incoming companies.
Studying and completing your graduation in university is one of the never miss experience. Accumulation of study academic and involvement of extra activities makes it worth a try.

- "Fee is affordable. Location is remote and peaceful and the college infrastructure is good! The teachers are supportive and good transfer of knowledge. The onboard process was good and informative and good exposure to real market."
- Dislikes:
- The release of grades in a timely manner and some unresponsive professors. Had to send multiple emails and visits to get my grades which were finally released after almost two semesters. The wait times were very exhausting
Overall the experience was good! Had a great time except for the weather which is horrible.
Fees:
Around 22000 CAD.

- Newfoundland is a growing province that is rich in all kinds of Renewable source, especially wind energy. Memorial can support that process.,
- Fact that it is in NL is the best. They have all the resources for you to go great lengths. You just have to show interest and approach professor on how to proceed. Great ambience in the Dining hall, good opportunities for people who want to work part time job.,
- Faculty are very talented in terms of their subject and knows how to proceed with the problem you are facing. Highly accommodating labs when it comes to working projects. The lab assistants will go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care, trust me on that as they have helped me during a period of COVID 19 to help with my projects.
- Dislikes:
- Nothing much. I was the first batch of my course. They have done a beautiful job in segregating the kind of courses. They could do a little better and assess which subjects are more needed and should come in the must learn category since not all the students will be from a corresponding background to understand the subject.
I had a great time learning about the culture and the standards at which a masters course is being taught. Learned a lot.

- Good ranking and low tuition fees. Its in really small city. So daily expenses are less. People are known to be really friendly and welcoming
It was great experience for me . Because from the start I have self taught my self specially because faculty is not so great. But accept that campus life is really good.
Fees:
It was around 45000$ for me but its almost double now like 90k for 4 years.
I select this University because of my course. It's only one university in Canada that offers Masc. safety& risk engineer course. Additionally, it's a renowned university in NL.
Fees:
28000
I wanted to move away from home (Nova Scotia) and Memorial was the cheapest option of tuition while still being able to get out of the province. I applied to 3-4 colleges, all of them being local besides Memorial. My graduation score from high school was 85% and I did get into all schools I applied to.
Fees:
Each course at Memorial is approximately $300-400, depending on whether or not it is an online course. There is about a $100 extra free for completing a course online. I did not receive any scholarships for my program and everything was paid through government loan. I would get approximately 10,000 per year to cover all costs- tuition, transportation, rent, groceries, etc. This ended up being more than enough for me to cover costs each semester.
