Session 9

Just watched Session 9 . In my opinion, an absolute masterpiece. From beginning to the end keeps you glued to the screen. The ending was perfect. The only thing I would’ve done different was better kill scenes . Do you guys agree ? I’m curious to everyone else’s opinion.

Hey...

Fuck youuuu!

This one is HUGELY underrated. Saw it first in the early 2000’s. So well done and very creepy vibe throughout.

And now I'm not sleeping tonight.

Did you get The Shining vibes watching this? I sure did.

I didn’t personally, but can definitely see how someone would. The atmosphere was something else for sure.

It's become one of these movies I want to watch at least once a year. I did rent it in the early 00's, but it's always great to revisit. They really accomplished so much on a modest budget, and they had the perfect location to shoot at, before it was demolished.

An early 2000s low budget gem! It does a lot with a little and is my kind of psychological horror.

Maybe need to give it another watch because I found it so so boring 15 years ago.

The first time I watched it I thought it was horrible.

Because of the constant praise in this sub I watched it again about 3 months ago. It was better this time around but not great. David Caruso was funny even when he wasn’t supposed to be.

Watched it a few months ago and also found it boring

Not a David Caruso fan. But he was good in this and one of my favorite slow burn horror films. Just oozes dread

That one creeped tf out of me. So atmospheric. And I didn't see the end coming. Just an unsettling film overall.

I've been trying to find a place to watch this.

Honestly I thought it was boring and took too long to develop. It definitely had a good premise and I liked the twist although it was easy to predict imo.

The pay off at the end just wasn't shocking enough for me, and I didn't really care for the multiple personality tape thing. I'll be honest I'm a bit biased, I don't like multiple personality in horror, it just feels played out. But that whole bit seemed a tad shoehorned in for my taste.

I didn't interpret it as MPD, but an actual demonic possession. But it's been a while since my last viewing.

ETA: IIRC, there are some lines in the interview tapes that imply that it can infect the weak/damaged mind, which it seemed to be doing to the present-day characters.
