Apply now - Huddersfield New College

Apply now

Applications for September 2024 entry are now closed.

Our application window is now closed. Applicants who applied by the advertised deadline will be contacted with an application outcome in due course. Please note interviews take place up until 14 March 2024, and applicants invited to interview will be contacted around two weeks ahead of their designated interview slot with a time. If you have applied, you may find the additional information below helpful.

Late applicants
In some circumstances we may be able to consider late applications such as for applicants who are relocating to the area or who have extenuating or other mitigating reasons for not applying by the published deadline. Please email studentservices@huddnewcoll.ac.uk with the subject heading ‘late application request’. Your email should state your reason for requesting a late application. Our Admissions team will then confirm our ability to accept an application.

Changing your application choices

The course change window is now closed. The next opportunity to request a course change will be at enrolment. Please note requests made at enrolment cannot be guaranteed as availability will be limited.

Advice for applicants attending multiple interviews

You may be attending a number of College interviews. If so, please remember you are free to accept places at as many institutions as you wish. This reserves your place on your chosen courses until GCSE Results Day, when you are then free to make a final decision. It is important to note that no College or Sixth Form can insist that you must make a choice and decline any other offers. We cannot reactivate any unaccepted offers after the acceptance deadline of Friday 12 April. Our ability to offer places post GCSE Results Day is dependent on availability, and some courses are heavily oversubscribed. Therefore we strongly advise all applicants to accept their place.

Admissions interview

Admissions are now closed and all interviews have been completed.

Conditional offer

All interviewees were provided with a decision at interview. Acceptances have now closed for 2024 entry.

Preparing for life at HNC

Once you have accepted your place, you will be given an invitation to log in to our online Campus HNC @ Home (live post GCSEs). This will invite you to explore HNC and complete some subject-based activities which will give you a head start and support you to understand where your programme of study and the life-changing opportunities on offer at HNC can take you.

You will also receive an invitation to our Welcome Event, Hudd Fest. This is taking place on Thursday 11 July 2024. This event will provide you with an opportunity to meet fellow potential students and your new teachers, as well as providing a final opportunity to explore the College ahead of you joining us in September.

Enrolment

Enrolment at HNC takes place online via our student record portal, CEDAR and all students who have accepted a place will be sent detailed instructions ahead of receiving their GCSE results. You will be asked to upload your GCSE results online by 4:30pm on 22 August 2024 and complete the enrolment registration form. Both steps must be completed in order to enrol. You do not need to be available in person for this day, but you must be contactable via telephone from Thursday 22 August to Friday 30 August in case we need to discuss your enrolment with you. You must remain contactable for these dates, or until you receive your enrolment confirmation email. If need to contact you are are unable to, please be aware that your place at HNC will be at risk.
