Santa Monica High School Reviews
Rating 3.84 out of 5 821 reviews
Santa Monica High School is a great school! Students have reliable teachers or staff that they can turn to in case of need. Students also have excellent mental health services that include one on one therapy, group therapy and mindfulness programs. The education that the school provides are greatly commendable for most of their students head off to college or universities. Overall, SAMOHI is an excellent choice for high school!
As a student who did not experience High school as a freshman due to the pandemic, I did not gage the holistic high school experience. But, with respect to that, I think Santa Monica High school did well in welcoming the students back into the educational system. Samo provides a lot of freedom to students, concerning their classes, clubs, extra curricula's and more. Samo Provides opportunities that are easy to access to help those who want to commit to a university. Samo is well diversified and underscores inclusivity, by having plenty of cultural inclusion programs, events and classes, Samo makes sure to stratify diversity. Although the school would prove a strong stepping stone after graduation, the school has plenty to improve on. The Price of certain events such as prom, or Senior night—where seniors are thrown a party—is too expensive. Safety issues, such as fights, or even slashing have occured. Furthermore the drug use in the school grounds have not been highlighted enough.
The academic resources are plentiful and fully available to any student willing to seek them out and apply themselves. The teachers care about the students and most students are self-driven, with most AP classes filling up at least two class periods
