Detailed Reviews
This is our favorite hotel in Austria with a really outstanding spa and pool area. We had booked this time for 5 nights starting on the Friday. Unfortunately all hotels and the ski area had to close at 6pm on the Sunday because of Coronavirus. Everything stayed open until 6pm and of course we could use the room and facilities without a late checkout charge. The staff on reception were really helpful, particularly Karin. Karin managed to book us a hotel in Salzburg for the Sunday night (not easy since the city was in lockdown). She also helped when off duty to organise a flight home for the Monday. Thank you very very much. We look forward to returning to the hotel next year.

The hotel is located in the Salzburg area. One hour drive from the German Border, close to Salzburg and 10 minutes to the skiing area Obertauern. The hotel provides a shuttle to bring you to the ski lifts. The hotel exists out of an older and a newer building. I would recommend to book a room in the newer part but the old part is also fine. The rooms are well equipped and clean. The service at the reception desk and restaurants are superb. Knowledgeable, dedicated and very friendly. Breakfast, diner and the afternoon food is very good. The hotel delivers what it promises. The wellness are is very good. Lots a sauna and bathing possibilities. The only downside, there are still people running around with mobile phones in the sauna area. There are also people smoking in the sauna area. This does in no way fit to the philosophy and style of the hotel but in all I can strongly recommend the hotel.

My family love it! I travel a lot and I like to visit many places during my trips; however, this was the first time that I want to stay always at the hotel installations.
Amazing food, friendly staff, espectacular room and hotel installations, impressive landscape view....
Highly recommended!!!

We have stayed at the hotel during our skiing trip. The best thing about hotel is spa, which is really great and beautifully done. The rest rather poor- the service is crap, rooms outdated and food ok.

The hotel is between Radstadt and Obertauern in a small municipality of cca.800 inhabitants. The hotel has brand new buildings representing an excellent marriage of old traditional wellness hotel and a modern spa. Perfect even the view from outside! Inside pool , outside pool, hugh sauna areas even an outside sauna house with a natural "waterfall" and small "lake".Many places to have a sleep&rest, separate pool for children. fitness room. Bicycles, bowling, biliard! House-beer and home-brewed local schnaps of different berries and herbs!
The dinner is superb! If Michelin-star providers would visit this hotel they may easily give the first star.... The chef as creator of menu, Gergő , the Cook prepares the dishes in a hugh speed and excellent quality. He makes the omlette for breakfast as well. Try it!
And do not miss the special programmes arranged by the hotel: tours in the hills, nordic walking, yoga on the peak, fitness programmes. The hotel has its own beaty - and massage team offering a large variety of face, full body, footh etc massage and handling.

The Lurzerhof ia a traditional Austrian Hotel. Unless you are Austrian or German or speak German its a difficult place to stay. All the staff are local which is to the hotels credit, however international travelers will experience some difficulties as the only language spoken is German.
That said the hotel is very very nice. Set amongst mountains and only a short bus or car ride to great skiing at Obertauern. Untertauern is a very small hamlet en route to the slopes.
The rooms are very traditional. Lots of pine and tiles, but cosy none the less. Our room was quiet and had views to the church at the centre.
If you eat at the hotel you will be very well fed, with the kitchen serving traditional Austrian fayre but with a local and contemporary twist. The problem is there is just so much food and the menu is wholy in Austrian, leaving one to guess or ask 'fish, meat or veg' which is about the extent of the personal translations. There is no bar. and that contributes to the traditional feel of the hotel, but it means that the hotel has no centre.
The hotel prides itself on its new spa facilities, which it has to be said are very good for a hotel of its size. However unless you like total nudity then the majority of the spa will be 'off limits' as you cant use the fantastic saunas and relaxation areas. You can use the very well heated outdor pool which is wonderful or the less warm indoor pool. These areas are full of young families, so tolerance is often required.
Overall ... its a nice play to stay but international it isnt and tolerance is a must. The hotel lacks a centre and just seems to lack 'fun'!

We’ve stayed at Lurzerholf for a week, coming for the ski season.
There are many pluses and many minuses.
Pluses:
+it has a great spa, having 5-6 saunas and 2 pools (an indoor inox pool and an outdoor heated pool);
+also they have very nice playroom for children with an indoor projection room that is like a small cinema, having good sound and the cartoons are projected on a big wall.
+ the lobby area is beautifull
+ it is clean
+has a indoor parking but the parking is not heated
+ has a big and easy accesible, heated ski room
Minuses:
- the staff is not friendly with children, always having a stiff attitude ( you know, children are laughing hard or talking loud sometime..)
- the food that is displayed daily is the same every day with minor variation
- on Christmas Eve we had for dinner ‘Fondue Chinoise’ - It was really inappropriate
- the hotel has two types of rooms: ones in the traditional part of the hotel - these rooms are not 4+ at all. In the modern part of the hotel we haven’t been

We were unfortunatelly for only 3 nights there. Beautiful surroundings, only 30 km from the area that we used to go for some years. Nice park there with some animals, not far away from Radstadt and Hallstadt. The accomodation was clean and tidy, our dog felt like at home. The food excellent and served well. It was really quiet and peacefull. For sure we will come back.

This December, we spent our ski vacation in Untertauern at Lüzerhorf, 7 nights to be exact. This ski resort is located in a more remote area, so deutsch is mainly spoken. However, the wonderful staff had prepared us english menus, daily program and so on, all in English version, very thoughtful of them. Our room rests in the newly built wing, where the decor is modern and contemporary. It can be said as a luxury ski chalet. The wellness resort offers exceptional amenities, such as the Panorama pool.
We can not forget about the facilities. The private ski lockers with heating bar inside are installed near the exit to the street where the parking and bus stops are in proximity.
Finally, this hotel may surprise guests on any given day of a specific holiday. In our case, to start the New Year, the guests were offered cocktail party several hours prior to the New Year, a marvellous dinner and fireworks once the clock hit all zeros. Extraordinary!
In conclusion, this was a great experience! Will be back!

Das Hotel hat insgesamt 60 Zimmer.
There is a free bus service, at least once per hour, more often in the morning and late afternoon. Bus stop is in front of the hotel, very convenient. It takes 15 minutes to Obertauern.
