A name that needs no introduction, Bollywood's perfectionist; a.k.a. Aamir Khan is known to do a single film in a year that usually takes away the big prize. Last seen in Thugs of Hindostan (2018), sharing the big screen with Big B, Katrina, and Fatima Sanah, it's been a while since we have seen him. But, need not worry, as the Dangal actor is making his comeback this year in Advait Chandan's directed 'Lal Singh Chaddha'. However, before we dive into his upcoming releases, let's have a look back at his last three films.
Amir Khan's last three films
Thugs of Hindostan (2018): The film is set during the period of Company rule in India. It follows a small-time thug, Firangi Mallah, who is given a task by the East India Company 's officials to infiltrate and counter a band of thugs. The film was releases during the Diwali weekend of 2018, however, it did not do well both, critically and commercially.
Secret Superstar (2017): In 2017, Aamir Khan was seen in the musical-drama hit 'Secret Superstar'. It is a coming-of-age movie of a teenage girl who aspires to be a singer, uploading videos on YouTube while disguising her identity with a niqab. The film also deals with social issues including domestic voilence and gender equality. Secret Superstar was a blockbuster hit, both, critically and commercially. The film grossed over 977 crore.
Dangal (2016): In 2016, Aamir Khan was seen in the blockbuster hit 'Dangal', that not only received positve reviews from the critics, but also became the highest grossing film of all time in India by earning 2,0242,100 crore. Dangal is a biographical sports drama film that is loosely based on the Phogat family.
Amir Khan's Upcoming film
The wait is almost over, as Aamir Khan is all set to make his comeback on the big screen in Advait Chandan's directed 'Laal Singh Chadda'. As per reports, Laal Singh Chaddha is expected to release in December 2021. The film is an adaptation of the 1994 Forrest Gump. Amir Khan will be seen sharing the screen with Kareena Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi.
Initially, the film was supposed to be released in December 2020, however, amid covid-19, the film was postponed for a full year. Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' is now scheduled for release during Christmas 2021.
