A few clicks and ticks on record. But it's a brilliant recording, and sounds great on vinyl otherwise.
If it's not the best folk lp ever, I wouldn't want to say which one is better,..........I guess 'wecome here kind stranger' comes close. Though that doesn't seem to have had a vinyl release since 1978. More than willing to be corrrected if that is not the case. I took my info from here; discogs.

With several listings for an all analog original press for fair prices Why would anyone ever order a digital repress when you can get an all analog original for a fair price?? Makes 0 sense. Original pressings not only sound better in most cases they are far more collectible. Pick up one of these mulligan pressings. Now, with that said, I am ready to watch the new season of outlander.

I agree with Arby's review - this edition is very nicely done and sounds great.... but... I've had three copies by now and all had several prominent ticks, even after a professional washing.

Wow...I never thought of Compass as a "deluxe vinyl reissue" kinda label -- their focus seems to be (appropriately) on new releases by active artists. But man, they did an amazing job here. This album certainly deserves the copper-bottomed treatment, being a bona fide classic of Irish music that keeps getting discovered by generation after generation. This reissue recognizes the album's immense influence with a gorgeous presentation: gatefold jacket, printed inner sleeve, an odd lavender vinyl color, and a massive book of notes that delve in great detail into the album's creation, context, and legacy. Pepper it all with a bunch of great unseen photos, and you have a thoughtful, definitive issue.

(Also, the pressing is quiet and very nicely mastered!)

Pleased to see that there will be a vinyl reissue in February 2022. Great news. Thank goodness for the current vinyl revival eh? I've pre-ordered on Juno.

A turning point in traditional Irish music, My version is hand etched with "master room" and signed "BOB" and "B" on the run-out groove. Also hand-etched with "LUN008 A1" and "LUN008 B1" on the respective side. Unable to find any previous etchings, has anyone seen this before?

This album really deserves a vinyl reissue. Arthur McBride by Brady is a stone cold classic.

My version has 'Made in the Rep. of Ire." at the top of Label 2 only. Otherwise identical.

This record is a pure jewel. All songs are sung and played with much heart, which conveys a very genuine feel. A must have to anyone who likes folk music.
