98% Tomatometer 43 Reviews 83% Audience Score 250+ Ratings Ramy Hassan is a first-generation Egyptian-American who is on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighborhood. He becomes caught between a Muslim community that thinks life is a moral test and a millennial generation that believes life has no consequences. Through it all, he's still trying to do the things that most 20-somethings do, like date. He is essentially a guy who is torn between praying on Fridays and going to parties on Friday nights. Which side will win out in this seemingly endless internal battle? Read More Read Less Watch on Fandango at Home Buy Now

Yasmine AlSayyad New Yorker The show’s brilliance lies less in recognizing extra pressures that Muslim women are under than in recognizing their tact and determination in pursuing what they want. Dec 8, 2022 Full Review Hugo Rifkind Times (UK) Ramy has similarities with hipster comedies in the Girls vein, but it’s not nearly so blithe. This is a comedy of excruciating humiliations and unforgivable sins, and while frequently hilarious often not really a comedy at all. Aug 12, 2022 Full Review Lara Zarum Globe and Mail The show is more thoughtful than laugh-out-loud funny, but it handles its soul-searching subject matter with a light touch. Mar 5, 2020 Full Review Linnete Manrique PopMatters Ramy's representation of the Muslim-American experience, the first-generation immigrant experience, and the bilingual experience, is a necessary and welcome addition to the millennial dramedy genre. Rated: 7/10 Jul 20, 2021 Full Review Euan Ferguson Observer (UK) Wise and funny and sad and (slowly) redemptive: what more might one ask? Feb 9, 2021 Full Review Pat Stacey Irish Independent We should detest Ramy, yet the script throws a curve-ball that adds another layer to him- he makes you both laugh and think. Ja L Like Louie but with a comedian who isn't funny, intelligent, or likeable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review raghda e Very poor comedy with no emotional nor intellectual insight for his journey towards finding his true self. Mainly revolves around a horny 20 something man who wants a ticket to perform sexual acts ,including adultery, while pretending to fight or stay true to himself. Something that I really think didn't need to be shed light on for the entire show. All in all I wasted a 3 seasons worth of hours on watching a series and I got out with nothing, nothing about the character except for the sexual mania part and his dilemma with that issue. A typical American comedy with an Islamic spice to it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review B C This show is wonderful. Absolutely, wonderful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/13/22 Full Review Audience Member I found the show most entertaining and realistic. The show brings a much needed exposure to everyday problems Arabic speaking migrants experience and endure. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Free A I loved this show. Truly original and new. Ramy and his collaborators are geniuses. One of the best shows I've seen in years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/07/21 Full Review Audience Member Hilarious, deserves it's high rating! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
