Very welcoming upon arrival. New owners clearly making changes and improvements. Room was very nicely decorated. Bed extremely comfortable and bathroom had a bath. The guest house is within spitting distance of the main high street but just tucked away so very quiet, no noise from passing traffic. The owners run the guest house and were super friendly and helpful. They even got me some veggie sausages for breakfast which was a really special touch and much appreciated. Thank you for a great stay.

I decided to book a last minute night away for my wife and I. I had a look at local B&B’s and Broadlands caught my eye as it was central to the village and offered free parking, which in Bourton-on-the-Water is a massive plus. We arrived around 11:30 and were greeted by the very friendly owner who happily let me park up and go and enjoy the weather as check in was from 2pm onwards. She was even kind enough to offer recommendations for places to eat which turned out to be very good. Check in was a doddle when we returned. We had room 10 which is a superior king room. It was very comfortable and the bed was terrific. There was a nice big TV and the fan provided was excellent. The hotel and the room were spotlessly tidy and the decor was perfect for the area. From what I was told it had recently been decorated and I think they’ve done great job.

Breakfast was really good. A well sized full English in comfortable surroundings, all the extras you’d expect were there as well (tea/coffee, juices, cereals and croissants)

The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. I feel very bad for not getting their names but both the managers and the young lady working with them (possibly daughter?) were lovely and I cannot find fault with any aspect of our short stay. It was simply an excellent last minute trip away and we will certainly be returning.

Room Tip: Parking is very good and given the area the car park is a good size.

Had a really lovely stay at the Broadlands - a great base for touring the Cotswolds. A 2 minute walk into Bourton the town centre.
Lovely room was tastefully decorated, with plenty of accessible plugs and also a good size bathroom - well stocked and clean.
WiFi was free and easy to log onto! The room also had a great touring book of the area, providing great ideas of where to travel. Local knowledge of the area by the proprietors / family added a nice personal touch.
Breakfasts were tasty, varied and fresh, served on hot plates, nothing was too much trouble.
This converted home has a small bar and outside seating area.
The only downside and this was the only one was parking, it could be a bit tight.

Would definitely recommend; would stay here again and great value for money

Not at all what I would expect from a 4 star accommodation, the interior was very old fashioned and tired, notwithstanding, we stayed for a week in one of the bigger rooms in the main house. When we arrived there was used soap in the bath from the previous occupants, the rooms and bathroom were dusty and had not been thoroughly cleaned. Definitely not Covid clean, as you are led to believe. Three days we did not have hot water in the morning, and when I raised this, the first response was “have a bath”, which was highly unlikely under the circumstances. We had to keep asking for toilet rolls and towels, little detail to replenishing items. There was no housekeeping, just a making of the bed, cups were left dirty on the side, and in a week the room had not been hoovered once. Cereal was out of date, the fruit salad was brown, things floating in the milk as it has been poured and left out. Laundry bags in the porch inside and outside. Very little attention to detail and although we raised some of these concerns, there was little done to address these points, and although the owners were pleasant enough, the standards were just not there. I would question how this has qualified as a 4 star in comparison to some other wonderful accommodation in the surrounding areas.

Thank you for your review. We rarely reply but as there are a number of inconsistencies in your review we felt a reply was justified. As most will see from other reviews, agreeing with your observation is difficult. The rooms are completely cleaned between stays and very thorough, and most definitely Covid conscious. You had hot water every day as did the whole building. You had that demonstrated to you. Unfortunately, you had difficulty operating an electric shower which all previous occupants have had no problem doing so. We checked this and the operation was fine. All items were replenished daily but you were using 3 rolls of toilet roll a day. But when requested it was no problem giving you more. Housekeeping will not interfere with personal items, including drinks half drunk. You had the room with the self-contained kitchenette with sink and drainer and a variety of cups and dishes. The room was impossible to hoover as your childs dolls and stuff was everywhere. We can't be responsible for clearing up after your children or touching private property. In fact housekeeping took over an hour to clean up all the glitter that was in the carpet after you left. The sofa bed was also broken during your stay which you did not find the need to mention? You did not arrive for breakfast on most days even when you had a time slot booked. The fresh fruit salad is just that, fresh everyday. Real fruit. Any colouring would be from the various fruits. Laundry for the linen company is put out for collection as with any hotel and placed under the porch from weather. Can't see why you have an issue with that. We go above and beyond to please all our guest even if they are somewhat difficult. So much so in fact we allowed you to leave without payment of your bar bill which was 69 pounds. I noted you did not mention this on your departure? Finally if there are more wonderful accommodations in the surrounding area, then the obvious point is why did you not choose one of those? I can assure you that assumption is wrong. I feel really bad answering your points but felt your review warranted a more truthful picture of your stay so others could decide for themselves as they read through these reviews. Sorry you felt your stay was not up to your expectations.

After negotiating the price with the co- owner, we managed to get a reasonable price for a chalet that should of been for four people and there was two of us ( still very expensive) for what we got. On the website it included breakfast, no such thing it was £8 per person extra, it was a mediocre breakfast nice menu but coffee cold, toast was bread you would get from a supermarket, staff not friendly at all, tables left without clearing. The room was so old fashioned, ( to be fair the bed linen and towels were good). The shower was horrendous it came off the bathroom taps so it was so hard to get it right, either cold or red hot. There was no luxuries what so ever, there was tea and coffee making facilities with 2 packs of cheap biscuits. Due to covid there was no service in your rooms, when leaving you were asked to strip your own bed. The room also felt and smelt damp. How this establishment charges the rates it does is beyond me. We priced a lovely comfortable hotel for a small amount less with toiletries and breakfast included, unfortunatley they were fully booked or else we would have vacated to there. To top it all, when we left the owner did not even ask us if we had enjoyed our stay or said goodbye. Very rude and unsociable people.

We found our stay hit miss,we stayed for two nights our room was one of the chalets across the car park, the room was clean and the beds comfortable the bedding and towels were good quality. There was an iron ,ironing board and hairdryer and the tea and coffee tray was well stocked. Unfortunately it started to go wrong from there, their was no mirror in the room except for the one on the bathroom cabinet the bathroom is in desperate need of updating, the toilet did not flush properly and at one point we had no water at all coming out of the hot water tap. We told the owner about these issues but was informed a plumber could not come until until later in the week to address the issues , because of covid breakfast was delivered to the room and by the time it it arrived it was cold , we felt this establishment did not warrant its 4 star rating.

Booked a king bed room at this b&b. Room was in the block behind the car park.

It’s in a great location a short walk from the town centre. Room was spacious and very warm. Bed very comfy and nice quality sheets and towels.

Room was ok but thought expensive for the price paid. Sound proofing isn’t great if people are staying below you. Carpets could do with a clean. For this price would expect Nespresso. Machine rather than instant coffee in the room. Shower glass panel wasn’t sealed properly resulting in lots of water escaping onto the bathroom floor. Couldn’t quite understand why the tv didn’t offer all the free view channels that are available.

Wasn’t aware that breakfast facilities wouldn’t be available in the B&B until I had booked the room. Almost impossible to find any breakfast anywhere before 11 am on New Year’s Day.

Only staff we met during the stay was the cleaner who was very friendly and an absolute delight to deal with.

From the moment we met Andrea as we drove into the courtyard to the moment we left 13 days later we were made to feel part of "the family". Andrea was finishing hanging pictures in our room which had literally been painted the day before, as had all the other rooms leading up to Christmas. Our room was to say the least 'Fresh' and had all the usual toiletries and lovely fluffy towels, coffee & tea and really nice biscuits. The beds were soft and comfortable and the rooms quiet.

The rest of the team consisted of Rob, and son & daughter Ross & Carly all of whom appeared and disappeared "at the push of a button"! Our stay was enhanced by the impromptu entertainment provided in the bar of an evening by anyone and everyone, from quizzes to booked entertainment on Christmas Eve. Much laughter and jollity were the order of the evenings and although never having met before everyone who came in was made most welcome by one and all.

The Team couldn't do more for you and went over and above to help. Particuarly with my application to travel to Cyprus and booking extra baggage on our return flights. Andrea had also stored several posted items for us prior to our arrival. Nothing seems to be too much trouble or too difficult to handle for this extremely efficient family, even to the point of getting in some bottled ale for me to drink instead of Lager.

Enjoy your holiday in the Caribbean and we hope that the Bathroom renovations in all the rooms go smoothly for you.

This hotel is a work in progress, not that you would notice it as a guest, and we cannot recommend this little gem highly enough. Thank You all so very much for a wonderful Christmas & New Year. We will be back sometime in the future; that's a certainty.

Breakfasts were prompt and well prepared with nothing to complain about and the room was comfortable, clean and tidy. The mini suite we had could have done with a touch up here and there on the paintwork but nothing to detract from a pleasant feel. The block we were in was detached from the main house in a modern (ish) building with a large car park in front that was too full so we parked in the street, no big deal.
The one thing however that I did find very unsatisfactory was the hopeless shower. This was an electric shower type box that sat on the wall. The delivery of water was inadequate (even if you're into saving water) and the bath it was above was the wrong way round so the feeble shower head was even further away than it could be.....come on guys this is 2022 not 1985. I would mark this way down on stars but it not my intention to damage to hotels reputation, merely to point out that if you are paying good money for a hotel room, one of the primary requirements is a decent shower.

Situated about 3 minutes walk into the lovely village of Bourton on the Water this family run hotel is clean, comfortable and does a terrific Full English in the morning.
We read the other reviews before booking and can honestly say it was a great find.
The owners go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need and genuinely care about their guests.
Perfectly situated with on site parking which is a godsend in this tiny village as weekends appear to be super busy.
Thanks for a lovely stay.

I use the car when I am at Bourton but there is a bus service. It is not that frequent but there are two services the 801 to Cheltenham that stops at Bourton and the 803 to Bourton. The 801 is the best as it is the most frequent. For the return Marco would be best to answer.

Dear Madame Thank you again for your enquiry but please take note that in future it is better to message us directly as messages sent to us via trip advisor are not always seen, hence the delay in replying to yours? Thank you for making a reservation with us at Broadlands via Expedia one of our many booking distribution channels. Our terms of business with them does not permit us to under cut their advertised rates once a customer has executed a booking with them and whilst we would prefer you to book directly from our own website and in so doing avoiding any charges, now that you have booked with an agent this option is no longer available to you? Kindest regards MF Management
