MBA x Juris Doctor

Does anyone here know anyone who has both Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration degrees?

Does having both degrees give an individual sufficient leverage in his/her career? Thanks.

DLSU Law had this program! My friend graduated from the said school and passed the bar in 2017 (his first take) and was immediately employed by a popular politician. Hehe he’s also a business owner hence the MBA. :) will probs give you a little edge if you plan to be a corporate lawyer, and most def if you are a businessman like my friend hehe

Edit: had, commenter says it’s phased out na

Active pa rin ba itong program nila? This is my only reason to consider taking JD at DLSU.

Hindi na. The last batch graduated nung 2018.

Man that’s too bad! I wonder why they phased it out.

I do. DLSU and FEU used to have a joint double degree program but sadly they phased it out.

As for leverage, well I can't say for certain yet since I just passed the Bar in 2019. I started with litigation practice and I recently shifted to corporate practice (GOCC). The program was built for those who would one day concentrate on corporate practice and most of the graduates of the program, or at least those I know, have indeed concentrated on corp.

Afaik, neither CHED nor the CSC has given their concurrence to that LEB resolution. The CHED rep who signed that reso was even replaced for allegedly not obtaining the commission's approval before signing the same.
