An alumnus of the Asian Academy of Film & Television, Luv Ranjan is the man behind the 2011 romantic comedy
Pyaar Ka Punchnama, which went on to become a sleeper hit and became a rage with the youth. Made on a humble budget of less than 10 crores, the movie became a commercial success and garnered praise from a number of critics, calling it a delightful light-hearted comedy. After the success of his debut venture, the director went on to rope in two his debut movie`s cast members - Nushrat Bharucha and Kartik Aaryan in the 2013 romantic movie Akaash Vaani.
Wanting to recreate the magic of his debut movie, Luv then directed a sequel to Pyaar Ka Punchnama titled
Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, starring an ensemble cast comprising Kartik Aaryan, Omkar Kapoor, Sunny Singh, Sonnalli Seygall, Ishita Raj Sharma, and Nushrat Bharucha. The movie opened to rave reviews and beat the box office records of movies like Piku and Jazbaa, which released in the same week, in its opening weekend.
In 2018, Luv wrote the story of, directed, and produced the romantic comedy
Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, which revolves Titu who is soon going to be married to Sweety, however, his friend, Sonu, finds something about Sweety fishy and tries his best to sabotage the wedding. His 2019 project includes
