Jeff Hardy's Brother Gives Update On His AEW Return

It's been nearly a year since AEW suspended Jeff Hardy indefinitely following a DUI arrest in June 2022. But after Hardy's recent appearance back in the public eye, his brother has an update on his potential return.

During a YouTube video with AEW's Isiah Kassidy, Matt Hardy expressed optimism that Jeff might be back in the ring within the next six to eight weeks. He revealed that Jeff recently underwent eye surgery and needs about that long to finish his recovery.

"His eyes were just a little off-set, probably from wear and tear and beating his body up," Matt said. "They had to work on some ligaments and tendons in one of his eyes."

"So they corrected that [with] surgery, and they said probably in five, six weeks, he should be okay... You guys keep your fingers crossed. Maybe six, eight weeks from now, hopefully, we can see some Jeff Hardy on AEW."

According to TMZ, Jeff Hardy pleaded no contest in February to the DUI he was arrested for last June. He was given a 38-day credit for jail time he already served, two years probation, a 10-year drivers license suspension, community service, a court-mandated DUI program and other fines.

Hardy won over a dozen titles in WWE and three world championships with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling before joining AEW in 2022. But just three months after making his debut, Hardy was arrested.

AEW president Tony Khan opened the door for Hardy to return if he could complete alcohol rehabilitation treatment and maintain sobriety
