If it’s your birthday, you can cry if you want to. It’s ok to cry on Christmas, too.
In October, Carly Rae Jepsen returned with a yuletide treat, “It’s Not Christmas Till Somebody Cries.” She then unveiled the festive video on Wednesday (Dec. 2).
With the new single, the Canadian pop princess wants to spread some much-needed joy. “I hope it makes you smile and think of you and yours this season (as chaotic as they may be!),” she initially tweeted.
It’s one of just a small handful of songs released this year by the “Call Me Maybe” singer. Earlier in 2020, she dropped “Let’s Be Friends” and “Me and the Boys in the Band” and LP Dedicated Side B, the companion album to 2019’s Dedicated.
