WWE RAW Live Results (May 13, 2024): Top star left bleeding in epic KOTR quarterfinal main event

Gunther defeats Kofi Kingston via submission.

Becky Lynch defeats Dakota Kai via DQ.
Judgment Day defeats New Catch Republic via pinfall.

I feel like I've seen this somewhere before...

After the match, Gunther walks down to the ring. He gives Ilja an interesting look before getting in the ring to have a staredown with Jey Uso, his opponent for next week.

Jey counters the Torpedo Moscow with a spear, cutting Ilja clear in half! An Uso Splash finishes the night!

Jey Uso defeats Ilja Dragunov via pinfall.

After a running knee and a powerbomb, Ilja goes for the H Bomb! It connects, but Jey kicks out!

We get a "This is awesome" chant from the Greenville crowd, but they don't seem to be reacting to Ilja's offense. Jey surprises him with a superkick to counter another Constantine Special, but it's not enough. At this point, we see that Jey's left ear is bleeding.

Ilja rocks Jey with the Constantine Special lariat but can't secure the win.

Ilja is rocked with an enziguri, and Jey follows with an attempt at the Umaga hip attack. Ilja gets to his feet and boots Jey's face into the third row. He takes Jey over with a German suplex and another. He's trash-talking the entire time.

Jey fights off an abdominal stretch, and the two batter each other with strikes. The crowd Yeets to Jey, and doesn't give much of a reaction to Ilja just yet. They'll learn.

The main event between Ilja Dragunov and Jey Uso starts off stiff. Ilja is hammering Uso with some massive strikes, but Uso is able to send him to the floor for a suicide dive. Ilja withstands the pressure and leaves Jey on the announcer's desk for an H Bomb.

Jey avoids it and flies into Dragunov, sending both superstars over the desk!!

We see The Judgment Day and Carlito celebrating backstage, with even Damian Priest admitting what he did was "cool." However, he needs to handle his business with Rey Mysterio before he can join them. To quote Priest, "We don't roll with cowards."

It's time for the MAIN EVENT!! The final King of the Ring Quarterfinal match of the night! Jey Uso vs. Ilja Dragunov!

Jey Uso nearly dethroned Gunther prior to WrestleMania and would've done so had Jimmy Uso not interfered in the match.
Before his match with Sami Zayn, the last time Gunther lost a title was to Ilja Dragunov, who ended his epically long NXT UK Title reign.

Which one of these men will go on to face The Ring General in the semis?

As Dunne's about to finish JD, Carlito attacks him! He takes Dunne out with a Backstabber, and Balor finishes Dunne with the Coup de Grace.

Judgment Day defeats New Catch Republic via pinfall.

Judgment Day is now the #1 contender to Awesome Truth.

As Akam goes for the finish, he's taken down by Brutus Creed with a massive t-bone suplex. Brutus is tagged by Bate as he dives onto the crew outside. Bate hits a rebound lariat on Akam and spins with the big man on his shoulders!! As they drop, Balor rolls up Bate for a near fall. Pete Dunne tags in, and NCR hits the Birminghammer!! It would've finished the match, but JD pulls Pete off of Balor's body.

New Catch Republic dives onto AOP while Julius takes Balor down with a top rope superplex. The Creeds go for Brutus Ball but are broken up by AOP. Super Collider eliminates Judgment Day, and Akam sends the New Catch Republic to the floor.

Back from the break, The Judgment Day is tearing apart Brutus Creed. As they attack NCR on the corner, though, Brutus takes them down with a clothesline and tags in Julius Creed. The big man takes out both Judgment Day and AOP. A double gut wrench suplex takes The Judgment Day overhead.

Julius sends JD to the floor and is hit with a slingblade from Balor. A shotgun dropkick rocks him, but as Balor goes for the Coup de Grace, he's cut off by NCR.

Can you throw him farrrrrther? Just get him right out of hereeeeeeee

AOP gets in the ring and launches the three other teams around the ring and into each other with ease. JD McDonagh is tossed over the ropes and onto Finn Balor, NCR, and the Creeds. AOP is on top as we cut to commercial.

JD McDonagh starts off with Tyler Bate. These two have a little history dating back to NXT UK. Bate tags into his NCR partner Pete Dunne, and the Bruiserweight works over the individual fingers of JD.

Up next is the #1 contender's match for the WWE World Tag Team Titles. Awesome Truth is at ringside for this Fatal Four-way between Judgment Day, New Catch Republic, Final Testament, and The Creed Brothers.

Ilja Dragunov is interviewed backstage about his upcoming match with Jey Uso. He says he's looking forward to proving himself against Jey, but he's done something that nobody else in the tournament has. He's beaten Gunther.
As he says that, he turns, and Gunther is standing right next to him. They stare each other down, but Gunther doesn't seem impressed.

After the match, Lyra Valkyria saves Lynch from any more damage. Though they send Damage CTRL packing, Liv Morgan sneaks in while their backs are turned.

Liv launches Lynch into a ring post before sliding out of the ring. Lyra is left checking on Lynch as Liv and Damage CTRL mock them both.

Dakota hangs Becky in the ropes and hits a rope-assisted curb stomp for a near fall. Becky turns things around and hits a leg drop on an elevated Kai for a two-count of her own. She follows Kai up top, looking for the superplex.
She hits it and rolls into an armbar attempt, but Kai is able to reverse into a pinfall. As they go back and forth, Becky manages to catch Dakota with the Disarm-Her.

Damage CTRL rushes in and takes out Lynch, forcing the DQ.

Becky Lynch defeats Dakota Kai via DQ.

Aimed that kick at the wrong one, Bex...

Becky Lynch dominates Dakota Kai early on, sending her to the floor for a baseball slide and a diving clothesline. However, a distraction from IYO SKY allows Dakota to get the better of the Women's World Champion. She rocks Lynch with a kick as she's climbing the turnbuckle and spends the next few minutes wearing her down.

Backstage, Braun Strowman is giving The Creeds and Ivy Nile a pep talk. He says that he's been impressed with them as of late, and thinks Ivy can give him a run for his muscle with her strength. JD McDonagh walks in and tries to intimidate Braun, but uh...it goes as well as you'd think.

As Otis and Gable walked back, the Greenville, SC, crowd chanted loudly for the big man. Do it, Otis. Deck him in the schnoz.

When Otis finally fights back, the WWE fans are gonna go insane

After the match, Gable berates Otis, leading to Sami running in and saving the big man from further punishment. An exploder launches him into the corner, but he avoids the Helluva Kick.

Otis tries to help Gable to the back, but he slaps the big man across the face. Otis slowly follows Gable out of the ringside area.

Sami Zayn and Otis kick off their match with Otis getting the better of the champ. He takes Sami out with a nasty spinning back elbow as Gable screams, "That's my guyyyyy!" However, Otis sets up for the worm, leading to Gable interrupting. Otis does indeed hit the worm, though, much to Gable's chagrin.

Zayn avoids a big splash in the corner. When Otis gets to his feet, he's hammered with the Helluva Kick!

Sami Zayn defeats Otis via pinfall.

Is this the man Gunther will be facing in the semifinals?

Next up is Sami Zayn! The Intercontinental Champion is in action over a week before his triple threat defense in Saudi Arabia against Chad Gable and Bronson Reed!

Jey Uso cuts a promo an hour out from his KOTR quarterfinal bout. He says that Drew McIntyre couldn't "cut it," so they put him in the King of the Ring. Last week, he put down Finn Balor. Tonight, he and Ilja Dragunov go to war, but he's got his eyes on the prize. Yeet.

Zoey counters a tornado DDT and sends Lyra into the corner with another suplex. As she looks for the Z360, though, Lyra Valkyria manages to slip out of harm's way. She picks up Zoey and plants her with the Nightwing!

Lyra Valkyria will face IYO SKY in the semifinals next week.

Back from the break, Zoey rocks Lyra with a springboard dropkick. Lyra recovers, though, and pelts her opponent with another great striking combination. Zoey escapes a fireman's carry and launches Lyra overhead with an incredibly devastating half-Nelson suplex.

Lyra kicks out and avoids a dive, rocking Zoey with a rolling heel kick.

Valkyria picks up momentum early on with a series of strikes that send Stark to the floor. Stark avoids a dive, though, and lays Lyra out with a clothesline. This should be a fun one, two up-and-comers with very similar styles.

Lyra Valkyria is up next against Zoey Stark. The winner of this Queen of the Ring quarterfinal match will face IYO SKY in the semis.
