That's all from us folks! Hope you enjoyed this cracker. Until next time then ...

ALL OVER - RR win by 15 runs and jump to the top of the table

What a finish. They needed 36 and Powell struck three consecutive sixes. The third ball was a high full toss but the umpires didn't refer it. They felt it wasn't a no ball. DC weren't happy. Pant wanted to call his batters back but Powell and Kuldeep stayed on. Pravin Amre then ran out to have a chat with the umpires but the officials stood their ground. Powell fell on the final ball as RR sealed the win.

RR on top

Prasidh Krishna has nailed the penultimate over. Started with two dot balls against Lalit Yadav and then had the batter caught behind on the third. And he bowls a wicket maiden.

DC 187 for 7

36 needed off 12 now ...

Pant goes

Prasidh Krishna has got the big wicket of the DC captain. Chahal dropped him at deep fine and this was another tough chance. Padikkal settled under the high ball and it took a dive in the end to catch that one. He holds on safely to ensure there are no mishaps this time.

DC 124 for 4

10 overs done

R Ashwin has landed another punch for RR. Shaw falls on the last ball of the tenth over and DC are now three down with 99 on the board. They need 124 off 60 but it's going to take a special knock from the likes of Pant and Rovman Powell.

Powerplay done

DC have lost Warner and Sarfaraz inside the powerplay and have got 55 on the board. Prasidh removed Warner in the fifth over while Sarfaraz was undone by Ashwin in the sixth. RR clearly on top early in the chase with the asking rate close to 12 now. DC have managed to score close to ten an over but the two wickets will hurt them.

Shaw and Warner out to open, Boult will bowl the first over of the chase ...

RR 222 for 2

So Buttler doesn't get his highest T20 score but makes 116 to power RR to a solid total. DC are not out of it yet, and have the firepower to chase this down, but RR have in-form bowlers who will make it incredibly tough. RR scored 67 in the last five overs with Sanju Samson ending with 49 off 19.

Century for Buttler

There's no stopping Jos Buttler this IPL. He gets his third IPL ton this season and is ensuring another clinical show with the bat in hand for RR. With four more overs to go, anyone else thinking of a score of more than 150 for him? His highest T20 score is 124 and it could well change today.

RR 158 for 1 in 16 overs

Khaleel strikes

Padikkal is lbw for 54 after a review. Full and on the stumps, the opener failed to connect and falls.

RR 155 for 1

Fifty for Padikkal

And now Padikkal joins the party and gets to his half-century with a boundary. With six overs to go, DC are under the pump and are still searching for answers. Buttler is hammering the bowlers to all parts while Padikkal is happy to play second fiddle.

RR 137 for no loss in 14 overs

10 overs done

Ominous signs here for DC. Buttler has found his rhythm and is looking a lot more at ease at the crease. They've scored 87 in the opening ten overs and haven't lost a wicket. They have the fire power to smoke at least 120 in the final ten to make life difficult for Pant and Co. And Buttler gets to his half-century on the first ball of the 11th over.

Powerplay done

So RR score 44 for no loss in the powerplay after just 11 came in the opening three overs. Buttler looked scratchy early on and it was Padikkal who got the early boundaries. He struck three against Mustafizur in the fourth over before Buttler kicked on in the sixth. DC need wickets now.

Alrighty then, Padikkal and Buttler are out to open for RR. Khaleel will bowl the opening over ...

TOSS - Unchanged DC opt to field; No changes for RR as well.

DC - Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Rishabh Pant(w/c), Rovman Powell, Sarfaraz Khan, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed

RR - Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson(w/c), Shimron Hetmyer, Karun Nair, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Obed McCoy, Yuzvendra Chahal

ICYMI - A family member of Ponting has tested positive for COVID-19. He will miss the clash against RR.

Hello and welcome to the live blog of the IPL 2022 clash between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. Before we get going with the clash, here's the preview by Ganesh Chandrasekaran -

Setting aside their Covid battles, Delhi Capitals managed to put in a performance that ought to give them a lot of confidence. Their campaign has been plagued by player unavailability for a variety of reasons, but from time to time there have been performances of note that have served as reminders that they cannot be discounted at any point. In that, they share something in common with their next opposition.

Despite some glaring imbalances in the make-up of their eleven, Rajasthan sit pretty with four wins in six games. Almost all of their senior players have played a big part in dragging the team home from some difficult positions, with their spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin coming in for special mention along with Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer.

But like Delhi, they too are waiting on a few more areas such as the middle order to find form in order to get into a settled eleven. Both skippers form key parts of their respective batting units but are yet to deliver on the promise that they've showed in brief spurts.

But just as there is a wait to get a few back to form, the two teams also have in-form players who are bound to come up against each other frequently, and as a result carry big responsibility for of their team's fortunes.

The battle between Khaleel Ahmed and Jos Buttler might not offer much in terms of a head to head history (dismissed once in two innings) but given Khaleel's form (10 wickets at 14.30), his battle with the leading run-getter so far promises to be interesting as just a match-up as well as a key influencer in the game. So too will be the battle between David Warner and R Ashwin, who has got him five times in T20s, and Shimron Hetmyer, who is circumspect against spin, is likely to face a stiff challenge against Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel.

These individual contests could well count for more than they should when two such teams scurry for a minor advantage in what appears to be an evenly-matched contest on some fronts.
