Libertyville returns to the top of the rankings and the North Suburban Conference, and Wauconda’s Danny Newman is the player of the week.

Joshua Holst strikes out 13 and Quinn Schambow homers as the Wildcats sweep Stevenson to clinch a share of the North Suburban Conference title.

2. Mundelein 21-7 (3) 

Joey Kafka allows two runs and five hits on 67 pitches over six innings as the Mustangs top Lake Forest on Wednesday to earn the other share of the NSC title.

3. Stevenson 22-11 (1)

Brandon Schultz is heating up at the right time for the Patriots, the top-seeded team in their Class 4A sectional, as the postseason begins next week.

4. Grayslake Central 23-10 (5) 

Jacob Redker pitches six shutout innings as the Rams beat Wauconda on Thursday to clinch a share of their fourth straight Northern Lake County Conference title.

5. Wauconda 21-10 (4) 

Colin Christensen goes 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the NLCC co-champion Bulldogs’ win against Grayslake Central on Tuesday.

6. Highland Park 19-12 (7) 

Kyle Flynn pitches five shutout innings, allowing just three hits, in the Central Suburban North leader’s win against Maine East on Tuesday.

7. Grayslake North 19-11 (8) 

Cameron Bates allows no earned runs and two hits while striking out seven in five innings in the Knights’ win against Lakes on Wednesday.

8. Grant 19-10 (9) 

Cole Sparkman allows one hit in four innings in the Bulldogs’ win against Lakes on Tuesday.

9. Lake Zurich 15-11 (10) 

Josh Marzec throws a six-inning no-hitter while striking out 12 in the Bears’ win against Waukegan on Tuesday.

10. Lakes 16-12 (6) 

Jaden Jackson continues to deal for the Eagles, recording a 1.78 ERA over 47 innings.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
