Digitized from a shellac record, at 78 revolutions per minute. Four stylii were used to transfer this record.They are 3.8 mil truncated conical, 2.3 mil truncated conical, 2.8 mil truncated conical, 3.3 mil truncated conical. These were recorded flat and then also equalized with Turnover: 400.0, Rolloff: -12.0.

The preferred version suggested by an audio engineer at George Blood, L.P. is the equalized version recorded with the 3.8 mil truncated conical stylus, and has been copied to have the more friendly filename.

Also called "Flat Foot Floogie (with a Floy Floy)," Slim and Slam's catchy, repetitive hit recorded for Vocalion (label illegible due to "Liberty Music Shops" sticker) peaked at number two on the US charts in 1938. Several sources argue that "floogie" was Vocalion's solution to Slim and Slam's use of the word "floozie," or prostitute, and "floy floy" was a slang term for veneral disease that got past censors, but the song transformed its connotation.

Slim Gaillard was known for his songs that use his made-up language, "Vout-O-Reenee." He spoke many languages on top of that. He and Leroy Elliott "Slam" Stewart incorporated their brand of vocalese into many of their hits, which attracted the attention of mass audiences and top jazz musicians. They played with the likes of Charlie Parker, Chico Hamilton, and Ben Webster.
