This film isn't the greatest adaptation from page to screen…that's just a fact. However, this film was a childhood favorite of mine and I still enjoy it a lot as an adult. The film still keeps the themes of the original story, while also adding new elements to the story, along with great comedic bits akin to the Shrek franchise. This is one of those movies that should be re-evaluated, because it's really not as bad as people say. I'd go as far to say I enjoy it more than The Grinch with Jim Carrey.
