Lana Wood, sister of screen legend, Natalie Wood, wrote in her book Natalie AMemoir by Her Sister, of the brief relationship in 1956 between Elvis and Natalie:
Then came Natalie’s abortive romance with Elvis Presley. They met, and Elvis flew Natalie to his family in Memphis.
They were to be gone almost a week, but just two days into the great adventure, Natalie called.
“Gladys has wrecked everything,” Natalie said, referring to Elvis’ domineering, jealous mother. “I don’t have a chance. Get me out of this, and fast,” Natalie said.
It was agreed that Mother would call Natalie back and ask her to come home because of some family emergency. Natalie’s romance with the king of rock fizzled out.
“God, it was awful,” she told me later. “He can sing, but he can’t do much else.”

Natalie wood in my opinion was a young film star who was good friends with lots of male stars at that time. James Dean. Elvis. And others.And i believe she just enjoyed the company of these young men as buddys at that time. They were all young stars at that time enjoying themselves. She spent a few days with elvis in memphis as mates. When it got timeto go to bed gladys. (Elvis’ mum) said no no no no you are not sleeping in Elvis’s room. She had made her a bed up in the back room. It was a friendship only. If natalie woods sister wants to contact me to question what i’ve put she’s more than welcome. That.s the true story.A!!!!!!!!!!!

In Anita Wood’s book she says Gladys told her that Natalie would leave her dirty panties on the floor of her house. This was the mid 50s.. I imagine Gladys really didn’t like a girl like that. How nasty and disrespectful.
