Zara Tindall is celebrating her 43rd birthday today after a busy week of competing at the Badminton Horse Trials 2024.

Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips’s daughter was born as Zara Philips on May 15, 1981.

The royal has a passion for horses shared by her mother and her grandmother the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Zara became a professional horse rider and competed for the British equestrian team in the 2012 London Olympic Games.

She also won the Eventing World Championship in Aachen in 2006 and in the same year she was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

The professional rider shares three children Mia, 9, Lena, 4, and Lucas, 2, with her husband Mike Tindall.

Zara married former rugby player Mike on July 30, 2011, at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh.

The decision to marry in Scotland may have been a nod to Princess Anne who married her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence at Crathie Kirk in Aberdeenshire in 1992.

Many royals including Princess Kate, Prince Harry and Prince William were part of the then 30-year-old’s special day.

Last week, Zara was cheered on by her husband and three children as she competed at the Badminton Horse Trials at The Badminton Estate in Gloucestershire.

Following the event, the equestrian rider stood surrounded by her three children as she gave an interview about her performance.

She said: “It was good actually. I had one down disappointing but he [Class Affair] actually jumped mega because he did feel tired this morning. I think it's the first time ever.

"I probably should have let go early, I'm sure my father will tell me what I did wrong but it's so nice to be back in there.

"I just want to thank my owner and my team, who did a mega job yesterday after a hard day's work and they worked so hard, and we can't do it without any of them so thank you."

In the adorable video Zara, who was still dressed in her riding gear, balanced her son Lucas on her hip as he played with the strap of her helmet.

Meanwhile, shy Lena stood close to her mother’s side, wearing a floral dress and a pastel coloured cap.
