Avantax Names Firm of Year

Avantax Planning Partners has named its Erpelding, Voigt & Co as Firm of the Year. The honor was one of many presented at the financial planning company’s 27th annual APP Elevate Conference.

Avantax said the award is for demonstrating exemplary productivity, client service, communication, planning guidance, and true advocacy of Avantax. In addition, Jeff Knapp and Brian Sohn of Erpelding, Voigt were named to the company’s President’s Club, which is for Avantax’s. highest-performing partner, while Sohn was named Top Planning Partner.

Other firm awards went to Honkamp, the Consistency Award; Blue & Co., Best Practices Firm; Yeo & Yeo, Growth Award and also the Risk Management Partner Award; Harding, Shymanski & Co., Retirement Plan Excellence; Baden Gage & Schroeder, New Firm of the Year. Evans, Harville, Atwell & Co. and Christopher, Smith, Leonard & Stanell shared the Rising Firm Award.

Two individuals received the Client Advocate Award, Tara Strensrud of Yeo & Yeo and Stephanie Imhoff of Honkamp.

Bob Scott has provided information to the tax and accounting community since 1991, first as technology editor of Accounting Today, and from 1997 through 2009 as editor of its sister publication, Accounting Technology. He is known throughout the industry for his depth of knowledge and for his high journalistic standards.  Scott has made frequent appearances as a speaker, moderator and panelist and events serving tax and accounting professionals. He  has a strong background in computer journalism as an editor with two former trade publications, Computer+Software News and MIS Week and spent several years with weekly and daily newspapers in Morris County New Jersey prior to that.  A graduate of Indiana University with a degree in journalism, Bob is a native of Madison, Ind
