Baazigar was one of the biggest hits of the year 1993. The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Shilpa Shetty in pivotal roles and to everyone’s surprise Shah Rukh played a villain for the first time. The film was directed by Abbas - Mustan.

The director duo recently revealed that they had approached Nadeem and Shravan to write the music for the film but they declined the offer because Kajol starred in the film. The music directors were ready to sign the film only on the condition of replacing Kajol because they had a personal conflict with her.

Talking about the film, Abbas said, “Nadeem-Shravan used to know us very well. We went and met them and discussed about the film. The reason why they opted out of the film, we can’t clearly remember.” However, Mastan remembered the actual reason and said, “Nadeem-Shravan has some personal issue with Kajol and Tanuja ji. They asked us if we can change the female lead.We refused because we had already committed to her. We had finalised Kajol and she had also signed the contract. We refused to make any changes. Picture banege toh Kajol toh rahenge he. They responded to this by saying, ‘Toh hum nahi rahenge.”
