Sheryl (Brianna Brown) and Mike (Josh Randall), a young couple, are on a camping trip in West Virginia when an unnamed woman approaches them and advises to take the Timber Falls path due to its scenic beauty. They agree, but when Mike wakes up in the morning Sheryl is nowhere to be found. However, they're soon reunited when he is kidnapped by the same brother and sister who took her hostage. Ida (Beth Broderick) and Clyde (Nick Searcy), religious fanatics, have an unusual demand for the couple.

Shadows on the Wall

This lost-in-the-woods thriller actually holds our interest thanks to good performances from the central duo. Everything else in this film is completely bonkers.

Not only will you have a pretty good idea from the start what is going to happen to all these 'characters', but, even worse, you will not care when it does. A film so soulless deserves to be confined to DVD hell.

Even though it has lots of repeated horror movie cliches it could have been a decent film but the victim couple spends way too much time cutting of their nose despite their face. In one example she asks her boyfriend to get rid of the gun even though they just made it through what could have been a violent confrontation,which could have included rape and murder, with some of the mountain natives. Another example is they continue to antagonize their captors by using foul language. I will say the characters do some redeeming of themselves by the end which is nice.

I have to say, this was pretty good. It's bloody and creepy. The first half wasn't that great, but the last half was really good. I didn't like the ending, but it's predictable. Some scenes are a little hard to watch, too. This was like Wrong Turn and Hostel combined, so of you like those, definitely see this.

Well I was told this was a throw back to eighties slashers, so of course I rented it without hesitation. Boy was I steered wrong, the guy with the sickle doesn't even kill anyone with it. This turned out to be yet another routine torture flick with the bonus of demented hicks thrown in. I had to try real hard to get through this muck.

Generic and by-the-numbers horror, with a leading couple so irritating you'll want them to be killed. Some novelty value in seeing the aunt of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a childless, violent Bible-basher trying to harvest a baby from random backpackers. Capped off by a truly awful final scene, this is a movie to only bother with when you're at a (very) loose end.
