Ryan Reynolds Says He and Blake Lively Are "Still Waiting" for Taylor Swift to Name Their Fourth Kid

"We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child's name is."

Most people can probably relate to being inspired by Taylor Swift, but very few can actually say that the massive pop star's music is influenced by them. Swift's bestie Blake Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their four kids are those people.

Back in 2020, Swift revealed the names of Lively and Reynolds's three daughters, Ines, James, and Betty, in the song "Betty" on her album Folklore. During an appearance on the Today Show,  Savannah Guthrie asked Reynolds if the name of their fourth child, which has yet to be revealed, pops up on Swift's new album The Tortured Poet's Department.

"Taylor Swift keeps dropping it into lyrics!" Guthrie said, alluding to "Betty."

"We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child's name is, and I'll say this: We're still waiting." Reynolds joked, before teasing that the pop superstar needed to hurry up and get on it.

"She's a prolific writer—I mean, what are we doing here?" he added. "And 'lazy' is not a word I'd attach to Taylor."

After "Betty" came out, in true Reynolds fashion, the actor made a jest that he and Lively didn't actually tell their kids their names until the song was released. "We surprised them with it," he quipped during a 2021 SiriusXM Town Hall. "They didn't know. They had no idea. We don't tell them anything; we find they're most compliant if you offer them no access to outside information."

Reynolds and Lively welcomed their fourth baby in February of 2023, though they have yet to reveal the name and sex of the newest addition to their family. The couple already share three daughters between the ages of 4 and nine. In a 2020 interview with Access, Reynolds opened up about being a girl dad, which is quite different from how he grew up,

"I have three daughters, which I never in a million years would imagine," he said at the time. "I come from all boys. I have three older brothers. So for me to have three daughters has been such a ride, and I love every second of it."
