The Bihari Babu of the Indian film industry, Shatrughan Sinha joined TMC in 2022 after a brief stint in the Congress. "The magic of Mamta's personality is speaking everywhere. The work Mamta Banerjee has done for her people and the state, no CM has done that ever for their people. And even the Prime Minister of the country hasn't done anything like this," Sinha had said while filing his nomination last month. Sinha had earlier won from Bihar's Patna Sahib constituency on BJP ticket in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

"We have done an amazing roadshow and we could see how much support we are receiving from the people, how much love and blessings is there for us. We saw an amazing atmosphere. We can say that because of the work we have done ... Mamata Banerjee and TMC have won... We say 'what Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow.' That is what has happened,” he added.

Coming to Sonakshi, the actress is garnering rave reviews for her dual role as Rehana and Fareedan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series  'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar'.

Set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s, 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' promises to be an epic saga of love, power, revenge, and freedom. Through the stories of courtesans and their patrons, the series delves deep into the cultural reality of Heeramandi. It made its grand premiere on the streaming giant Netflix on May 1, 2024.

The series which marks Bhansali's debut in the web world, also stars veteran actor Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal in pivotal roles.
