Imagine if the dumbest, most inflated ego person you know got really high and started talking about the meaning of existence and how they were going to write a film script based on their whacked out thoughts that night. And it's going to be influenced by Quentin Tarantino and Oh God! And then they actually write that script and get it directed by an ex porn director, who should have stayed directing porn. Danke Random Number Generator, dank dir durfte ich den miesesten Film aller Zeiten sehen. Frenemy heisst das gute Stück und ist mit Abstand das Schlechteste was ich jemals gesehen habe. Dabei beginnt die Scheissigkeit schon auf der Bluray Hülle, denn hier wird erst einmal Zach Galifianakis gross vermarktet, der natürlich nur in den ersten 15 Minuten auftaucht. Schaut man dann auf die Rückseite steht da:

So if you want a good question to stump people for movie trivia night, ask them, “what’s the other movie with Matthew Modine and Adam Baldwin in it?”
The answer is this piece of shit, Little Fish, Strange Pond(I caught it on Tubi under the title Frenemy). It’s trying to be a quirky low-budget comedy, where we hang out with our two off-kilter protagonists as they get into mishaps and zany situations. Problem is that they’re both obnoxious assholes, and not in a way that makes them endearing. Modine’s character Mr. Jack is a guy who fakes an English accent and harasses strangers on the bus. This film was quite poor, and it's cover is quite misleading. Galifanakis is in it for maybe 10 minutes. He's most assuredly not the star.

Não sei pq as pessoas avaliam tão mal esse filme, assisti faz muitos anos e lembro que foi impactante, hoje por coincidência encontrei no Amazon Prime Video procurando algo pra ver nesta noite onde desconheço o sono e meus amigos, esse filme continua sendo incrível, cada detalhe, cada olhar, fala, cada tique dos personagens me faz sentir algo que não sei explicar, adoro esse filme!

Starts with two not exactly sympathetic guys drifting through LA, reminiscing about the changing mediascape of their days (oh, the golden, silver and bronze ages of porn!) while barely registering the social decay around them. Their banter is not half as witty as Dark unfortunately seems to thinks it is. With a better cast - Modine is adequate, but Bloom is a non-entity throughout - the hangout movie part might still somehow have worked out. The completely unsurprising "dark turn" later on is an utter trainwreck, though - nothing to safe here.
All in all it's a terrible film, but terrible in a rather unique way, and if this really turns out to be G.D.'s swan song, he leaves on an unpleasant, jarring note not completely unfitting his strange career: after three decades in the industry he finally gets his first shot at something similar to auteur filmmaking, he completely blows it, and well, goodbye.

Think a lot of people get sucked into watching this film because of the huge image of Zach Galifianakis on the cover. He's in the film for about 5 minutes, the only tolerable part of the movie.
