if Jeff Hardy became sober in 2008-2009, how would y’all book him as the new face of the company after Cena?

I think he could have been a top guy and won it a handful of times. Kind of like mick foley. Not the guy but a guy that can believably beat the top guy and hold the title for short sprints and for big pops. He is a very likable guy and top 5 in terms of laying it all out there despite the reliability issues which were only compounded upon by him laying it out there

Pair Jeff with Paul Heyman. He was over, but was terrible on the mic. If you want Jeff Hardy as the face of your company, someone else has to be the mouth.

The fact that he only held the belt for a month was a crime. All that for a hardy vs hardy match. The title being on the line for their mania match wouldve been so much better.

Maybe I'd still have Punk take him out. Give him nuclear heat with Hardy fans. In this scenario, he's returning at a later date.

Don't give Punk a shitty WHC run this time. Build him up a bit by having him win his feud against Undertaker, albeit with some underhanded tactics. The Hell in a Cell match between Taker and Punk is spoiled by interference from The Straight Edge Society. The group, alongside their leader CM Punk, viciously assault Undertaker and tear the ring apart. Think the Nexus in 2010. The match ends after Punk pins Undertaker.

The Straight Edge Society begins to cause chaos on SmackDown, attacking babyfaces Punk is feuding with. Punk feuds with Mysterio next and the two face off in a TLC match at the inaugural TLC event in 2009. Luke Gallows interrupts their match and assists Punk. After Punk's victory, he and Gallows put Mysterio through both ringside announce tables. Teddy Long interferes, and says enough is enough.

Teddy warns CM Punk, telling him that if he puts Mysterio through another table, he will regret doing so. Punk doesn't care and puts Rey Mysterio through another 2 tables.

At the Royal Rumble, Punk faces Shawn Michaels. Punk had taken personal shots at Michaels for his past troubles with addiction, so Michaels came to SmackDown to settle the feud. Punk attacks Shawn Michaels as he arrives at the arena, throwing him through a bus window.

Since Undertaker is on the shelf, Teddy Long has no choice but to call Jeff Hardy. Hardy makes his unannounced return at the Royal Rumble after Teddy Long introduces him at the #1 Position. Hardy lasts until the end and wins after throwing Edge over the top rope. The two shake hands after the match, and Edge tells Hardy that he better beat CM Punk's ass at WrestleMania.

Punk and Hardy continue their deeply personal feud, eventually facing off against each other at WrestleMania 26 in a falls count anywhere match. Hardy wins the match and the WHC after a Swanton Bomb off the WrestleMania pyramid.

At the next WWE Draft, Jeff Hardy is traded to RAW. John Cena is traded to SmackDown. After Hardy's win at WrestleMania, he is now the face of RAW.

Then have him feud with all of the top heels on RAW.

A bigger undertaker story which would end in a hell in a cell at mania would have been a top tier program that would have lifted him closer to the top even with a loss. Kind of how taker took Mick to the top after their HIC.

I’m glad Jeff won the big one and became wwe champion but he was never face of the company material even without addiction. He deserved to be wwe or world champ at least once or twice in his career but face of the company would’ve never worked

Don't think so. He super over at the time, but I doubt he would be able to keep the momentum for long. Dude wasn't great on the mic, faces are usually really fucking good talkers. He would be on the main event scene for a while though, that Jericho or edge type of career. Huge for a while then gets to just as a main eventer every once in a while but rarely as a main storyline, but probably not as prominent as those 2 given his mic skills.

Well if WWE wanted to they could have had Cena with the Royal Rumble and Jeff Hardy beats Punk in the loser leave WWE match. Punk goes away until like two weeks before WrestleMania where he lays out someone from MitB sake or argument Swagger. Cena wins aganist Jeff Hardy and you build to Punk vs Cena a year early. Jeff Hardy after working so hard to get clean and become a star snaps and he takes out Triple H like how Sheamus did, he is basically blaming him for the anger at WWE. Turn him almost into the Immortal Jeff Hardy. He is a like a calm hippy joker but just as violent. He just terrorized SmackDown with a stable, personally I would have it be Justin Gabriel,Heath Slader, and Christian York, and he would almost be their Raven. Eventually, you would give the tag belts to Slader and Gabrial, the Intercontinental belt to York, and lastly, Jeff would win the WWE Title from Edge in a nice role reversal of the feud. At Royal Rumble 2011 Jeff is facing Matt for the WWE Title and Matt wins when Jeff is distracted by Taker's gong and Matt hits a Twist of Hate. WrestleMania 27 Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker, Taker wins and we can write write Jeff off to let him heal up. Matt would have dropped the WWE Title to Sheamus who in exchange for losing his "victory" over Triple H I would have given a heel Goldberg push to and Matt would be the Apollo to Christian's Rocky because with Matt beating his brother Christian was the last guy to not be a world champion in WWE so you can build another year towards Christian winning it or Sheamus holds it till a babyface is ready to beat him so it could be Bryan, Punk or if you are really willing to wait Roman.
