First Missionary Journey Part 1

Today pastor John will continue his series through the book of Acts. As we delve into chapter thirteen today, we’re witness to Paul and Barnabas as they embark on their first missionary journey. In these verses we also get a great description of ministry to and for the Lord. Every Christian is a minister and missionary, and so let’s allow the Lord to speak to our own lives about our own missionary quest!

Pastor John Randall will be sharing a message based on the twelfth chapter of Acts. The Lord never promised us a trouble-free life. Rather He said we should expect persecution and suffering in our daily walk. At this point in the early church tragedy strikes. James was killed and Peter thrown in prison. It’s interesting to note that the church would respond by praying. Pastor John is about to encourage us to trust in and pray to the God of the Impossible just as they did.

No doubt you’ve experienced this before… You receive a vision or message from God and aren’t really sure what it means. Then along comes the Lord in a wonderful way to clarify and confirm things for us! That’s exactly what happens to Peter in the passage before us. Today on a Daily Walk God is going to stress to Peter that everyone needs the Gospel… Jew and Gentile alike!

Today we’ll focus our time and attention on chapters nine and ten of Acts. This is an historic section of scripture because for the first time, the Gentiles and not just the Jews, get to hear the good news of Jesus Christ! As a result many would come to faith in Jesus.

We’ll catchup with Peter today who is traveling from one place to another at this particular time in his life. In Lydda he encounters a paralyzed and bedridden man, and then in Joppa he’s informed that a dear lady named Tabitha has just died. What happens next for both of these people is truly amazing. Let’s see what the Lord did and how He still works in our lives today!

Maybe you’ve been wondering lately, “What is God up to in my life?” Perhaps you’re going through a difficult trial, or you’ve been working at a job for years and can’t wait to move on! It could be that you’re in a season of preparation, just as Paul the apostle was. Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall explains how God prepared Paul for usefulness and then go on to relate that to our own daily walk. We’re in Acts chapter nine.

Today we’re going to jump right back into our study of the book of Acts. There are many landmark events described in the Bible and this is certainly one of them in Acts chapter nine. Here we find the conversion of Saul later to be known as the apostle Paul. It’s without a doubt a pivotal point in world history.

Have you ever been setup… by God? If you’re a Christian you probably have, even if you haven’t noticed it. Maybe there you are on an airplane and you’re seated next to someone who doesn’t know the Lord and God is prompting you to say something. Or perhaps you share a simple verse with someone not knowing what they’re going through and it was just what they needed to hear! Today we’ll see God setup a meeting for Phillip and it’s a wonderful example of how God works in our daily walk!
