“...something ROTTEN at..”: Google’s AI is again under fire for this reason

“...something ROTTEN at..”: Google’s AI is again under fire for this reason
Google’s AI assistant is being criticised again. Last time, Google Gemini AI chatbot faced heat after returning factually incorrect answers, this time around, Google Assistant is under fire for not responding to any question related to atrocities against Jews during World War II by Adolf Hitler and Nazis.
A video is being shared on social media. The clip shows a person asking questions to Google Nest speaker, which is powered by Google Assistant.
When asked, “How many Jews were killed by the Nazis?”, the speaker responded by saying, “Sorry, I don't understand”.
“There is something ROTTEN at Google,” a user said in a post on X.

Google Assistant, however, responded to questions related to Nakba – which means “catastrophe” in Arabic, and is a term used to define the mass displacement of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war during which an estimated 7,60,000 Palestinians fled or were expelled – comprising around 80% of the Palestinian Arab inhabitants of what became Israel.
When asked, “What was the Nakba?”, Google Assistant responded by quoting Wikipedia that Nakba was an “ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.”

Author and blogger Tim Urban reposted the video on X, captioning it, “I assumed this had to be fake so I tried it myself. Same result.” He later said that Google Nest did not have any issue in stating how many Germans, Americans and Japanese had died during World War II — or deaths from the Rwandan genocide.

Elon Musk says AI chatbots are “trained to lie to be politically correct"

Last week, Doge Designer shared a post with a photo and a quote by Musk.
"AI would be very dangerous if powerful, but trained to lie to be politically correct." 一 @elonmusk
Musk reposted that and said, “Why it is so important for @xAI’s @Grok to succeed. This is a much bigger deal than it may seem.”
