According to Adria Arjona, Andor season 2 will feature major surprises for her character Bix Caleen. The critically-acclaimed Disney+ TV show Andor is unlike anything else in Star Wars to date. A labor of love by Tony Gilroy, it's a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story with some of the best writing in all Star Wars TV shows. All the cast give tremendous performances, including Adria Arjona, whose character Bix Caleen fell foul of the Imperial Security Bureau.

Speaking in the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Arjona drops a hint that there are massive surprises in store for Bix in Andor season 2. "I think [creator] Tony Gilroy's writing is so smart that wherever people think my character's journey is going to go, it's ten times more complex than what people imagine," she teases. Andor season 1 was universally praised for its writing, and her comment suggests Gilroy has penned just as many twists in season 2.

Bix's Andor Season 1 Story Was One Of The Best... So What's Next?

Cassian Andor and Bix Caleen in Andor

Andor is unique among all other Star Wars properties, an intense exploration of the Dark Times of the Empire's reign. The main focus is on Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, showing his transformation from cynic to rebel, but every one of Andor's characters has a strong arc. Bix Caleen's is one of the most shocking, because she shows just how far the Empire will go with a random civilian who turns up on their radar. One remarkably creative torture scene was particularly unforgettable.

Andor season 2 will surely pick up on this, continuing to explore Bix's character in the aftermath of the uprising on Ferrix. The Empire will no doubt respond to the season 1 riot with force, meaning all the people will suffer - even those who fled. Bix will either choose to rebel, or else potentially cave in under the pressure and betray Cassian. But, as is always the case with Gilroy's writing, this choice is likely to be only the beginning of her story.

Gilroy used Bix as a lens through which to reveal the Empire's evil. The possibility of her getting further caught up in the Empire's actions is a chilling one, because she has already suffered so much. Hopefully she will turn out to be a rebel at heart, helping to overthrow the Empire, whether out of a desire for justice or revenge. Viewers will have to wait for Andor season 2 in 2025 to find out.
