Keane’s Manchester gig has finally been rescheduled after Co-op Live postponement
Let's hope 'this is the last time' they find themselves in this dilemma. See what we did there?...
Keane’s Manchester gig which should have taken place earlier this month has finally been rescheduled as Co-op Live looks to be back on track.
The Noughties pop-rock band best known for songs like ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and Everybody’s Changing’ were set to play the brand-new venue on Sunday, 5 May but had to cancel their date just days before after the arena had to once again inform music fans that it was still not ready.
Having already called off A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s show less than an hour before it was set to open, thanks to an air conditioning unit falling from the ceiling, and moving Olivia Rodrigo’s gigs, both Keane and Take That sadly had to disappoint fans – though the AO Arena thankfully saved the latter.
Now though, the four-piece have confirmed they will still be playing Co-op Live this year, only the date has now been moved to 19 October.
Celebrating 20 years since the release of their seminal album Hopes and Fears, fans have been waiting a long time for the boys to come back on the biggest stages and have also roped in Wigan locals The Lathums as the support act.
While it’s still a fairly happy ending overall, knowing that the gig will go ahead come the fall, plenty of people have still been left irked by the whole situation, with many now worried about potential clashes and being unable to attend the new date.
Writing on X, one user wrote, “Looking forward to seeing you again [and] it gives Co-op Live plenty of time to get it right”, while another was less forgiving: “Best possible experience would have been to play the AO on the actual date or at least explain why Take That could and you couldn’t.”
Safe to say the arena still has some way to go if they want to restore faith.

With Manc music legends Elbow now set to be the venue’s official opening act next week on Tuesday, 14 May, while the Co-op Live has so far avoided assuring that the gig will go ahead as planned (that came to bit them in the back-side the last three times), there has been no indication of another postponement.
Surely it can’t happen again, can it?
There are still some tickets left for Keane’s 20th-anniversary show too if you fancy rolling back the years with the lads and don’t worry – we’re pretty bloody sure it’ll be open by then.

Foo Fighters put extra tickets on sale TODAY for Manchester gigs
Daisy Jackson
Foo Fighters have announced that they will be releasing extra tickets for their UK tour dates, including their huge gigs here in Manchester.
The legendary rock band have two nights booked in at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, as part of their first UK tour since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Ticket sales went absolutely bonkers, with shows selling out in the blink of an eye.
But Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee, and Josh Freese are giving Foo Fighters fans one last chance to bag tickets to see them this June.
The band announced this week that extra tickets will be released for all seven of their UK stadium shows.
The Everything or Nothing at All UK tour will see the group supported by Wet Leg and Loose Articles on 13 June, then Courtney Barnett and Chroma on 15 June.
With a new album, But Here We Are, already under their belt and now touring the USA as well as headlining festivals across the globe, Foo Fighters have bounced back from the tragic death of Taylor Hawkins.
Following Taylor’s sudden death, the group cancelled all their upcoming tour dates, including their massive show at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground that was meant to take place in 2022.
They then arranged two star-studded tribute concerts in his honour, with performances from Liam Gallagher, Brian May, Mark Ronson and Supergrass, plus a moving drum solo from Taylor’s teenage son Shane.
Tickets for Foo Fighters in Manchester will go on sale at 9am on Friday 10 May. You can get yours through See Tickets here.
