  1. Post update

That's all from us on what has been a chaotic night of football. How do you top that?

    See you next time.

  2. 'There isn't a no wrong decisions utopia'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou: "It seems like there isn't a great call for us to go back to accepting the referees decisions. I understand goal line technology, that came in and nobody complained about it.

"That utopia where there are no wrong decisions in the game will never exist. It's our own fault as we complain about decisions every week.

"I guarantee the next thing is that we will hear referees micd up, there are plenty other sports where you can watch that."

  3. Post update

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

Almost time to wrap things up for tonight, we've a little bit more from Ange Postecoglou from the post-match press conference so will bring that to you now.

A disappointing lack of 'mate' in it though.

  4. Who made Garth's TOTW?

Well after that chaotic game, who made it into Garth Crooks' team of the week?

    Check it out here.

  5. 'Three points means a lot for us'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to Sky Sports about whether he substituted Levi Colwill because of his yellow card: "Yes because I think after the yellow card he lose a little bit his focus and it is too much risk. Marc [Cucurella] is doing well also so I thought not to take a risk. I thought to get another yellow card is going to be a risk for us."

On Spurs' high line: "Look, when you are on the top of the table you can try everything. When the confidence is there you try it. If we try something like this then in every movement you concede. We are maybe in a different position and with space in behind we can maybe score more goals."

On Nicolas Jackson's goals: "I think it is about building his confidence. We know when a striker is young and arrives at a club like Chelsea it is massive. He is so young and came from Spain, different league and he needs to improve. I hope this hat-trick can allow him top play more relaxed and find the confidence he needs."

On the win being sweeter at Spurs: "I am so happy because the three points means a lot for us. We are in a situation when we need to win points. I am happy to come back and see people I didn't get the chance to say bye too. Most important for me is the win. It is Tottenham and it is not more special because of that."

  6. 'The team showed good character'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we played 22 minutes more than we initially would play. It was an amazing game and we faced against a team who were in full confidence.

"We needed to raise our confidence and it was an important victory for us. We have to analyse the game in different ways, but we forced them to make mistakes and the team showed good character. We won the game and we achieved what we wanted to do."

Blues response after conceding the first goal: "To be honest, we really struggled in the opening stages and we didn't start well. I think it was difficult for us to control the game, the space in the box and the entire goal. We made too many mistakes in possession and Tottenham started the game with full of energy. After we conceded, the team started to play and played with more freedom. We didn't show our quality in the first 10 to 15 minutes of the match that we suppose to have."

Message to the players when Tottenham went to 10 and nine men: "The line of the defence was so high and we started to build from the back. We didn't have the patience to move the ball from one side to another and find the right moment. We ran into spaces at the wrong time and were disappointed at half-time for not exposing the space that Tottenham gave us. We didn't find the right moment to kill the game because the line of defence was so high. The most important thing for us is the three points."

  7. 'We grew into the game'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea goalscorer Cole Palmer speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a big game before we came here today and they were unbeaten.

"It has been a difficult start for him [Nicolas Jackson] and we can't hide from it. He just needs to work hard on the training pitch and keep his head down, then I think he will get many hat-tricks.

"I think in the early stages, we were losing too many second balls. When the ball was bouncing. We grew into the game as it went on."

Tottenham going down to nine men: "It is easier to play against nine men. We knew we needed to win the game when they went down to 10 men. We needed to keep pressing and making runs in behind because the line was so high. We managed to score in the end."

    Cole Palmer
  8. 'Chelsea had to win'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Jamie Carragher

Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports

You could see it from Pochettino on the side-line, a worried look on his face. I felt with Spurs' high line Chelsea would have scored loads of goals and they did, but those chances for Dier and Bentancur still came. If they hadn't won, this would have been a dark night for Chelsea.

  9. 'We deserve the credit'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BBC Sport: "This is football. We won and deserved it. The technology is there and we need to accept. Many things happen on the pitch and you need to verify and check."

On if Chelsea deserved the result: "Look at the game between Tottenham and Liverpool here, Tottenham won in the last minute. I think we deserve the credit. Tottenham are doing fantastic but tonight I think we were the better team."

On Nicolas Jackson hat-trick: "It is amazing for him and really important to build confidence.

"I think 4-1 in the end we deserved the victory and the three points and it is really important because we have a really important game next with Manchester City.

"It is clear from the beginning we didn't have the whole squad. This momentum we need to build and on Sunday we have another opportunity to show we are in a good way."

  11. 'Chelsea were trying to find the perfect pass'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Daniel Sturridge

Former Chelsea striker on Sky Sports

It's more about knowing where to move or about being patient. I don't think Chelsea were taking risks to make something happen and they were trying to be a bit more measured.

Sometimes you have mavericks who take more risks and Cole Palmer had a couple of opportunities where he could have played it earlier.

    Cole Palmer
  12. 'We needed to fight'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea hat-trick hero Nicolas Jackson speaking to Sky Sports: "I am very happy and it has been a difficult time for everybody in the team. We are coming back really slowly and happy to have scored three goals. It's my first hat-trick, so I am happy to have done it with the biggest club in England and everywhere.

"I need to always improve and work harder. We continue working. Tottenham have an amazing stadium and amazing fans, so we needed to fight and win the game."

Tottenham going down to nine men: "It was really difficult as they continued to maintain their line. We have quality players to give us the ball and we won. We were dreaming about winning the big games and the confidence within the team is coming really slowly."

  13. 'I don't like it, it is the way the game is going'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to BBC Sport: "There was a fair bit going on, a lot of VAR intervention, a hard game for me to analyse but I am very proud of the players. Right to the end they were trying to create something for us.

"The players couldn't give any more than they did, part of this game is will, effort and determination and they showed that."

On VAR decisions and time taken to make them: "I don't like it, it is the way the game is going. Some of it is self inflicted because if we come out every week complaining about decision that is what will happen, every decision gets forensically checked and we will be sitting around for a long time in every game trying to figure out what is going on.

"I don't like it but I am probably in the wilderness with that because I keep getting told that's where we want to go. I am too old school, I'll respect the referee's decision right or wrong. But it is the way the game is going.

On Maddison injury: "He got a knock on the ankle, we were down one man already. It made sense to make a couple of changes at that point."

  14. 'Weight off Jackson's shoulders'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Daniel Sturridge

Former Chelsea striker on Sky Sports

A lot of joy and weight off his shoulders. A big game and nights like this, you do feel 'yes, keep this going next week. I want to score more goals.'

    Nicolas Jackson
  15. 'A lot of standing around'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

More from Ange Postecoglou on VAR decisions: "There will be a forensic study of every decision out there, I think that is the way the game is going and I don't like it. If you look at all that standing around we did today, maybe people enjoy that sort of thing but I'd rather see us playing football."

On Tottenham sending offs: "You have to accept the referee's decision, that is how I grew up. This constant erosion of the referee's authority is where the game is going to get - they are not going to have any authority. We are going to be under the control of someone with a tv screen a few miles away.

"The decision is the decision. In 26 years I have had plenty of bad decisions, I have had plenty fall in my favour. It is what it is."

On playing with a high line down to nine men: "It is just who we are mate, it is who we are and who we will be for as long as I am here. If we go down to five men we will have a go."

  16. 'An out of control game'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou speaking to Sky Sports: "It is pretty hard to process. It is almost impossible to analyse the game because it just seemed to get out of control for large parts of it. Disappointed by the result but really proud of the players, they gave everything and that is the positive we will take.

"We were very close to getting an equaliser a couple of times and it shows their spirit. It was just a bridge too far today.

"I thought we started really well, scored a great goal and inches away from another. The red card affected the game, I felt like I was standing around waiting for things to happen, with VAR intervention. It felt like a lot of standing around."

On penalty and sending off: "They had a good look at it and given it so I have to accept it."

Neil: Were we great? No Did we just beat Spurs in their own back yard and end their unbeaten start? Yes 3 points is all that matters, however you get them

Adrian: Whilst we shouldn’t totally disregard how bad the performance was, we need to take this result forward. It’s a big derby we’ve won, build on it.

  18. Post update

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

How often do you see a team lose 4-1 and get a standing ovation? It was clear the Tottenham fans were proud of and appreciated the effort of their players, despite the loss.

For Chelsea, this could be the win they need to kick start their season.

  19. 'Box office'

    FT: Tottenham 1-4 Chelsea

    Jamie Carragher

Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports

I've been watching football for almost 40 years and certainly as a neutral, I would say that was one of the most enjoyable games I've seen for so many different reasons.

It was absolutely box office and that is why the Premier League is the best league in the world by an absolute country mile!

Andrew: Spurs finishing with so much credit tonight despite the loss. Chelsea fans should be worried by how unconvincing their team has been.

Dom: As ridiculous as it sounds 4-1 v 9 men is very very flattering. Spurs played the better football and even more with 9 men, Proud of the boys

Callum: As a Spurs fan we can only look on with pride. Our lads gave everything they had. The excuse for the defeat is sat in the dressing room. Udogie is a young player and will learn, but Romero needs grabbed by the collar, absolutely livid with his childishness. Both players could have been sent off twice. No excuses, we go again. COYS
