It's not a western. The movie occurs in modern times.

Some cinema critics like to use the term "modern western" and "neo-western". I didn't invent anything. By definition, a western refers to a certain time period and not real-world 2010s like Hell or High Water

Fringe is one of my favorite shows. I didn't even know the two guys behind it had done cinema.
You're completely ignoring the definition of a western "The Western is a genre of fiction typically set in the American frontier between the California Gold Rush of 1849 and the closing of the frontier in 1890"
It can't be a western if we're dealing with modern times. But whatever. Keep doubling down.

I found Past Lives to be quite overrated to be honest. It received too much attention and an Oscar nomination for it to be considered underrated.
