scheda film] by Bruno Dumont, it’s the Directors’ Fortnight that will act as a springboard for the Marché du Film of the 77th Cannes Film Festival (from 14 to 25 May) for French sales agent Memento International (directed by Émilie Georges) since two titles in their lineup will have their world premieres there: The Other Way Around by Spanish filmmaker Jonás Trueba (released in Spain on 30 August via Elastica Films and in France on 28 August via Arizona Distribution) and Gazer by US director Ryan J Sloan.

At the Marché du Film, the sales team of Memento International, lead by Alexandre Moreau, will also launch sales for The Ugly Stepsister by Norwegian filmmaker Emilie Blichfeldt, a first feature currently in post-production that revisits Cinderella’s story between comedy and horror film. Amongst the cast of this production lead by Mer Film (with Zentropa Sweden, Polish outfit Lava Films and Danish company Motor in co-production) are Lea Myren, Thea Loch Naess, Ane Dahl Torp, Flo Fagerli, Isac Calmroth and Adam Lundgren.

Also in post-production are Arenas by French filmmaker Camille Perton (starring Iliès Kadri, Sofian Khammes and Edgar Ramirez – read the article) and The Divine Sarah Bernhardt by her compatriot Guillaume Nicloux (starring Sandrine Kiberlain, Laurent Lafitte and Amira Casar).

Finally, standing out in pre-production are American films The Murderous Miss Highsmith by Alexandra Pechman (starring Shailene Woodley, Cara Delevingne and Noémie Merlant) and The Maid of Orleans by Sarah Elizabeth Mintz.
