A world away from what he's used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother's suicide. As Carmy fights to transform both the shop and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveals itself as his chosen family. What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Instead of reinventing the menu, The Bear's second season wisely opts to toss its lovable characters into another frying pan of adversity, lets 'em cook, and serves up yet another supremely satisfying dish.

Simran Hans New Statesman It’s the kind of rich character development that’s missing from most TV and films. Like in a great sports movie, the thrill is in seeing each team member working in synchronicity, lest the whole performance fall flat. Jan 16, 2024 Full Review Dan Fienberg Hollywood Reporter Jeremy Allen White is still great on The Bear, but credit to the creative team for realizing that this is a show that works best as a true ensemble and not as a star vehicle with some meaty supporting roles. Dec 14, 2023 Full Review Camilla Long Times (UK) It’s a show about food in which the camera itself seems starving, pushing hungrily up against its main characters as they try to resurrect their failing sandwich shop in Chicago. Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Donal Lynch Sunday Independent (Ireland) The Bear serves up a fresh feast of bite-sized drama... Jan 29, 2024 Full Review Pallavi Keswani The Hindu Moving beyond the confines of Carmy, his grief, and the Berzatto family members, this season of The Bear excels in establishing itself as an ensemble drama. Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Aglaia Berlutti Hipertextual The Bear's second season takes a step out of the kitchen to explore its characters with greater breadth and intelligence. The result is another point of view that showcases a solid evolving storyline. [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: A+ Jan 18, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Chris I Excellent show. I couldn't stop watching, until I finished the whole season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/19/24 Full Review Daryl D Claire haters begone Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/19/24 Full Review Nashville I Same problem as Season 1: Season 2 meanders a lot in an episodic way, without much of a bottom line. The show is WELL DONE, but it's not very interesting. If this show had a central plot it was driving toward instead of being so episodic with a rare call back to central plot, it'd be pretty good. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/08/24 Full Review Ashley S Chef's kiss! Also, how did I end up rooting so hard for Richie? All the characters have such a roller coaster of a journey! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/08/24 Full Review Dominic B I enjoyed season 2 even more than the first season, probably because it takes more time to explore and deepen the whole ensemble of incredible characters in the story. Jamie Lee Curtis joins two espisodes in an amazingly emotional and strong performance. Olivia Colman and a few other A-listers also have cameos. Everyone wants to be in this truly amazing show. After the open ending I'm open for season 3. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/24 Full Review Craig H The last 4 episodes of this season took this show to another level! Sooo good!
