Borders are changing: travel to/from London later this year

The EU will introduce a new Entry/Exit System (EES) later this year. This new border requirement will apply to non-EU nationals travelling to the EU. We’re getting ready and will have more info on our website in due course. For now, you can find out more here.

Your Lille Europe station guide

To ensure you have enough time for all pre-departure steps, please come to the station at the recommended time and not just before ticket checks close.

Ticket checks

When you arrive at the Eurostar ticket booth or gates, simply scan the barcode on your paper ticket or on your mobile. You need to scan each ticket individually. If you don’t scan your ticket, there’s a chance your seat will be given to someone else.

Eurostar has two types of train – each with different seating capacities. Sometimes, we have to switch the trains scheduled to run, which means we have to reallocate seats. In such cases, you may be allocated a different seat number by a member of our team or when you scan your ticket at the gate. Please ensure you hold on to your new seat information as you’ll need it to find your seat when you board. Tickets issued by other carriers may not have a barcode, so you'll need to speak to a member of our team.

Passport/border control

Your passport will be checked twice – first by French authorities and then by UK Border Force.

Eurostar departure lounge

In the Eurostar departure lounge you’ll find the following facilities:

  • A Relay shop
  • Toilets with baby-changing facilities
  • Wi-fi
  • Vending machines (for drinks and snacks)
  • A tax refund facility
  • A children’s play area

Business Premier area

Business Premier travellers and Carte Blanche holders can access our dedicated Business Premier area where they’ll find:

  • Comfortable seating for working or relaxing
  • A self-service coffee machine
  • Tokens for snacks at the Relay shop

Boarding

Boarding will be announced around 15 minutes before departure.
