Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is on track to return before the season ends, following a non-serious injury confirmed by recent scans. He was substituted at halftime during City’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest after a collision and was later seen with his arm in a sling. Despite the scare, the results were positive. “It didn’t look good,” Pep Guardiola, City’s manager, admitted, “but the scans have reassured us.”

While Ederson is likely to miss the upcoming Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, he could return for the final three games, crucial for City’s title hopes. These matches include encounters with Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham on May 19.

City, trailing Arsenal by one point but with a game in hand, remains in contention for the Premier League title. Should Ederson not be ready for the FA Cup final against Manchester United on May 25, Stefan Ortega will continue in goal.

Ortega has already proven himself reliable this season, playing in all of City’s FA Cup matches. “Stefan has shown great reliability whenever we’ve needed him,” Guardiola stated, confirming his confidence in Ortega’s abilities.

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.

The first three episodes are available on Sambafoot’s Youtube channel. Stay tuned for the upcoming releases as we keep telling this legend’s life story.
