Very informative, great pace. Kate was very personable, interactive. Really nice touch to package up the samples for the drivers so they didn’t miss out.

Friend and I came to Oban for a couple of days while I was on holiday in Scotland.
Noticed the tower sitting prominently on the hill and decided that was one place I needed to visit while there. As we were on foot, it was bit of a climb up some fairly steep hills and roads, but eventually we made it too the top and wow! Spectacular views of Oban and the whole bay area, with Mull and various other islands also on view. Spent a while admiring the sights and taking photos then headed back down into the town.

Booked the ferry from Oban to Mull and back for our Mull to Iona trip and the staff were so helpful and friendly, on the boat we had dinner which was hot and fresh and great value. Again restaurant staff very helpful and keen to help. Having staff with charisma really helps make travel so much better for tourists, many of which are not fluent English speakers. I watched them help tourists and they were so friendly.

Fascinating little museum that should be better publicised for visitors to Oban. It’s deceptively small but has many fascinating mementos of Oban in the last century and beyond. The exhibits are well laid out with clear descriptions. It was staffed by two pleasant and knowledgeable volunteers. Thoroughly recommend

We journeyed 50 miles each way to view this garden, and we were not disappointed! The garden was in excellent condition and the area of trees that had been felled was outside the extensive area planted and landscaped so well over many years, and did not detract. At one time before the necessary tree felling, it was pleasant to walk around this area too, but there is still so much to see! The sheer variety of plants and shrubs amazed us at every turn. We will be visiting again!!

A really nice spot to visit. Situated not far from the main road and easy to find. Plenty parking and the castle itself may be a ruin, but it was still worthy of a visit. The exterior wall is intact but the interior is no more than ruins with a towered roofed section which you go up through to get onto the walk which takes you around the wall of the castle. Still ....... a really historical place that definitely worthy of a visit if you're in the area.
Also, there are ruins if a Chapel in the woods here also.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Dunollie Castle. Staff very helpful and friendly. Our tour guide Jamie was excellent, so enthusiastic and informative. Great views from the Castle. The Kettle Tearoom served very enjoyable snacks. Disappointed not to see the red squirrels but staff assured us that they can often be seen.

This is a small-ish beach hiidden away at the edge of town. beach is a mixture of sand/gravel and rocky areas. had a good hour or so here with the dog on the beach , plus the surrounding dunes/hills.

car park is a paying one and there is a burger van type thing also.

not the best beach but worth a visit if in town. clean and tidy too !

The two ladies were so kind and helpful, even beyond their normal job. I am extremely grateful, especially to Gracia who did not only provide help but also socks. Thank you so much

Visited while staying in Oban and were very glad that we did. The centre is relatively small, but packed full of information, so you can easily spend a bit of time exploring all the options. You can tell that the science of oceanography backs this place, but it does it in a very easily accessible for all way.
There is a lovely little cafe, where we had some toasted sandwiches for lunch - very nice, no complaints.
Oh, and it is dog friendly - including in the cafe. Our dog received a very friendly welcome, making it a great option when the Scottish weather is not so good.

Just to make it a great day we stopped to enjoy this local attraction. Nice little spot for a short walk and enjoyment of the wonders of nature. We chatted to some locals and a team of guys who had just crossed the falls with rock climbing gear. Made for an interesting and enjoyable day.

It was a lovely but very hot walk down from the ferry as we chose one of the hottest days in September - but the tea garden made a good resting place. The castle is a ruin but well preserved for its location. I found it well worth the assent on the hill but my wife felt that would have been a step too far: despite the heat the grass was still wet and slippy and I slipped at one point on the way down The views from the castle are wonderful and the bay below it was a great place to have lunch and a paddle in the sea.
