Many Bollywood actors suddenly lost their verified check marks on Twitter on Friday morning, as a part of the platform’s roll-out of the Twitter Blue subscription service. Amitabh Bachchan, among others stars, complained about losing his blue check mark on the social media platform. He even confessed that he’d paid for the Twitter Blue service, but his account remained unverified nonetheless. This changed late Friday night, and Amitabh once again took to the platform to offer his thanks.

He wrote in Hindi, “T 4624 – Hey brother Musk! I thank you very much! The ‘Neel Kamal ✔️ is back in front of my name! Now tell me, brother, would you like to listen to a song? Because I feel like singing. Listen: ‘Tu cheez badi hai Musk Musk” 🎶.”

In yet another tweet, the 80-year-old actor wrote, “T 4624 – Hey Twitter aunty! Something amazing has happened!! The blue tick was panicking all by itself, so I planted an Indian flag next to it. But while I was doing this, the blue lotus ran away. Tell me! What do I do now?”

On Friday morning when Bachchan realised that the blue tick from his Twitter account was missing, he had requested that it be reinstated, as he had already paid for the service.

In his tweet, he had written, ” “T 4623- Hey Twitter Are you listening? Now I have given the money too… so that blue lotus is there, right, put it back brother, so that people know that we are the ones – Amitabh Bachchan. I am folding my hands, should I fall at your feet now?”

The blue tick on Twitter is of utmost importance as it is the verified badge that was earlier given to Twitter accounts that are considered to be of public interest, such as those belonging to celebrities, public figures, or brands. Famous personalities like Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rahul Gandhi, among others, lost their blue tick as a result of Elon Musk’s new paid feature.
