Patriots reveal 2024 schedule in 'Good' video; 'My boy is wicked smaht'
The New England Patriots 2024 schedule released on Wednesday night showed that the team won't be in the national spotlight much, at least this season. However, the best Hollywood-like performance may be from Patriots alumni Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and some of the current-day coaches, who were part of a video the team put together to unveil the schedule for the season ahead. "Hey, you like apples, how do you like them apples," a janitor by the name of Jules Hunting says, mimicking the scene featuring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in the movie "Good Will Hunting."The video put a spin on several scenes from the 1997 Oscar-winning film. "On the campus of one of the NFL's most storied teams," the video begins, showing artsy shots of Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Jules plays the role of "the most gifted mind to ever into the stadium... the person who cleans its floors."The video doesn't feature MIT-like math equations, but focuses on figuring out the right formula to predict the upcoming season's schedule. Easter egg: look for a 28-3 Super Bowl reference here."My boy is wicked smaht," Gronkowski proclaims during one moment in the video, a clip which undoubtedly will be a meme on the internet by the time you read this."'Good Jules Hunting,' coming to a stadium near you," the movie-like trailer advertises. The nearly four-minute video also features cameos from former Patriots brainchild Ernie Adams, owner Robert Kraft and head coach Jerod Mayo. You'll want to stick around for the ending, too.
