Availability of Taxis at Nanzoin

Availability of Taxis at Nanzoin

Hello everyone, I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I was wondering: how easy is it to get a taxi at Nanzo-in (or at Kidonanzoin-Mae Station)? My husband and I would ideally like to visit Nanzo-in and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine on the same day, but we will be pressed for time... so we wanted to catch a taxi to drive us from Nanzo-in to Mozenmachi. However, I read that Nanzo-in is in a more rural area, so I'm worried that a taxi won't be available. Any insight anyone could share would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your help.

I doubt taxi is available in JR Kido Nazoin Mae station. Visitors drive or join group tour bus. Alternative is: Charter a taxi from the start. MK, Fukuoka Taxi, etc. has charter service for tourists. It may be 15,000 - 20,000 yen plus Urban expressway and E3 expressway charge. Other option I think of is to first Dazaifu Tenmangu by Nishitetsu train. Then ride a taxi from Nishitetsu Dazaifu station to Nazoin via E3 expressway. There's a taxi stand in front Nishitetsu station and also tourist information desk.

You can easily visit both places by public transportation in a day without rushing. No need to take a taxi.

Ah, okay thank you so much for your help once again ETflyer! I think we'll try to see Dazaifu tenmangu shrine first then, and pick up a taxi from there to Nanzoin...

Hello Dr. Shibuyakko, thank you so much for your input. That's what I read, but unfortunately we have to be back in Hakata no later than 1:30PM so we can't lose an hour here and there taking buses and/or trains. We are only considering visiting both locations because of their very early opening times... thank you again for your advice.
