Clean big apartment rooms close to the beach. Friendly staff. Small breakfast included as well as parking place available. Good place to stay for leger time at the beach. Small pool available. Bikes for rent and beach chairs for free. Town center is in walking distance. Reasonable internet access. Free coffee all day. Friendly receptionist taking care and helping. In Sep/Oct it is a Qualm & nice place. Aircon at night not needed.
Our favorite restaurant was the Convido 150m direction to the city.
We booked this hotel 4 month in advance, but for October there is plenty of rooms / Apartments end of Sep / beginning of Oct free for lower rates.
We can recommend and would come again.

We spent one night in this hotel during our road trip from SF to LA.
The location is very good, walking distance from the beach and not far from main street of Santa Barbara.
Rooms though would need some refresh. There is no air conditioning, only fans.
Room size may be short for 5 (we were 5), for us it was OK as we just spent one night.
Breakfast was OK.
Check-in and Check-out done properly and no surprises.

Overall experience was average. The property is tired as is the interior of the room. The rollaway bed was completely worn out which caused a bad night of sleep. As a result they allowed us to depart early which was appreciated.

We got a fine ervice on the hotel. There is a pool that is nice to use when it's to windy on the beach. You can get free beach towels. The hotel is situated a few miles away from central Santa Barbara so you actually has to drive or have a walk (observe this if you have small children). The hotel is close to the nice sandy beach where beach volley etc is played during the day. Breakfast is included in the price and is ok but eat early or you risk the food offering is limited. You can get a very nice free coffee in the reception during the whole day. There are many good restaurants in the central part of Santa Barbara and we walked every night (calculate around 25 minutes to reach them)

Two years ago, we had a great stay at this hotel and really enjoyed the service. This time was very different. The front desk person on Day 1 of our stay didn't know anything about restaurants and said she didn't live in the area so didn't know the city. Very poor choice of person for a small hotel in a small town. On Day 2, another front desk person couldn't help with a problem with the guest laundry stating it wasn't run by the hotel. What ever happened to contacting the vendor and getting them to help?
Sorry, but won't stay here the next time around. Hotel needs to do a better job of hiring and training staff.

We stayed one night at the Inn at East Beach. It is a unique and as others have said, "retro" hotel to stay in. We had a second floor room with views of the pool, room 124. We thoroughly enjoyed the staff, location, and free pastries and coffee for breakfast. The room was large and ours came with a fireplace. The main part of the room was modernized and fun while the actual toilet/shower area was in need of updating. I will say the room and bath was spotless, however the bathroom was carpeted and it looks like they put so much effort in other parts of the room but neglected to update the bath area. I had to deduct a bit because of this.
The only other aspect of the room that causes me to deduct a few points as well was the fact that there was no air conditioning. I saw in another review that someone mentioned there was no AC, I just figured they meant that it did not have "good" AC. We are from Texas and we are not used to being without AC. Now, if you are from a part of the country where you are not used to having AC then this will likely not be an issue. It was quite comfortable in the room with the fan they provide along with the ceiling fan. However, having your windows open diminishes your privacy and if you are having a "romantic getaway" with your significant other and having your windows open might be inconvenient.
All in all it was outstanding and we are very pleased to have stayed there. We thoroughly enjoyed the area and the conversations we had with the staff. They are so helpful when it comes to assisting with finding fun things to do in the area.

The Inn is close to the beach. Friendly staff. Free use of beach equipment. Free wifi. Private parking for a good price (USD 10 per day). Our room 102 was located on the ground floor and was little bit dark, but it was of for our overnight stay. Good value for money.

This is a nice place to stay in Santa Barbara. Although it does not have a direct view of the ocean, the beach is only a two-minute walk away.
The breakfasts are nice and are available in the hotel lobby each morning. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean.
There is a beautiful view of the mountains and of the hotel grounds from the courtyard, where there is a pool and some tables where you can eat your breakfast.
One other piece of advice - be careful with the keys when unlocking hotel room doors! The door keys easily break.
Those who are looking for something extremely fancy are in the wrong place, but the Inn at East Beach is good overall for those who want to have a relaxing holiday in Santa Barbara.

I traveled with a buddy and we stayed there for 3 days. The rooms are quite nice and roomy. Our room had old dust in the corners and some hair left in the bathroom but otherwise was quite clean. We were in the front 1st floor until 101 with a nice deck/patio. The toiletries were nice, classy and plentiful... great towels, nice lighting, flat screen TV,Fridge, Great bathroom sink and nice comfortable beds*The breakfast was the only real negative. Basically just muffins,bread, bagels , a large bowl with only apples and small old tangerines, coffee,Milk, hot chocolate and large assortment of teas. NO eggs, No bacon/sausage,No cereal, no oatmeal and no toaster the first couple of days but they did get a new toaster before we checked out. So....Breakfast= huge disappointment. but we sill liked the over all experience a lot and would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay here for several nights, as the rooms were spacious. This is one of those re-modeled motels, with clean and modern rooms, not the fanciest bathrooms, but certainly clean and comfortable. The price is high for what it is, but thats what you get in Santa Barbara. The pool is shaded for most of the day so not very usable for us, it was just to cold. The breakfast was good, basic but pretty good for continental breakfast. The staff was very nice!

There is a charge of $10.00 a night when you book thru a 3rd party. However if you book thru us directly you get complementary parking.
I’d call and ask for what I think was called the junior suite. Though I’m sure if you call and describe your ideal suite, they’d be happy to comply.
