Controversy on social media

At the end of the show, Sigmund, the drummer of Aurora's band, made an 'OK gesture' from the stage. In Brazil this gesture has some negative connotations. Some people on social media interpreted the gesture as a sign for "white supremacy" after a Twitter post on March 28th. Speculation about other signs (a drawing with a swastika, skull tattoos, the number 777 and a photo) immediately followed, supposedly indicating that the drummer is affiliated with extreme right-wing ideologies. Soon, both Sigmund and Aurora made statements on social media and denied all allegations of this affiliation. The negative attention on social media did not subside however and had grown into frenzied proportions. Several fan accounts chose to distance themselves from Aurora's statement. Aurora later apologized on social media and reaffirmed that none of the allegations against her drummer held any truth and that he would thus remain in her band.
